Great value and thick
Great value, very solid and thick for the price. Surprisingly heavy. Did my entire attic with one roll and 1/4 the price of what I was projected to spend.

Great Stuff, 1st class product
Update 1 Oct 2024: Discovered an issue potential buyers should be aware of; roof leaks. I was waiting for temps to cool before resuming my attic work and Hurricane Helene’s outer rain bands reached us making for much cooler, wetter weather. I noticed some black spots on the underside of the roof decking in areas I had not yet covered. Each black spot was a wet area where a nail holding a shingle had worked loose allowing rain water to seep in around the nail hole. Not the fault of the product, but I never thought about the possibility of a roof leak. I had to remove quite a few staples to lower the material enough to get an inspection camera in to check. Hope this helps! This barrier product has exceeded my expectations. This is a true perforated, laminated aluminum faced and backed product with a very, very strong scrim. This is not the potato chip bag metalized Mylar film stuff that tears when you look at it. No comparison. This Houseables branded product is imported from you know where but put your concerns to rest; this is top shelf material.I am in the middle of installing 2K linear feet of the barrier and stopped to post my findings.1. Easy to handle as it is a heavy gauge material that doesn’t rip. About as thick as 4 sheets of heavy duty grilling type Reynolds’s Wrap.2. Cuts super easy with scissors. You can use a box cutter, but I found scissors much easier.3. Easily tacked up with 1/4” or 3/8” staples. The foil has some rigidity and that’s a good thing.4. Heavy weight. A full box is more than 31 pounds. You will want to pre measure pieces in a comfortable place, roll em up and take ‘em to the attic to install.I noticed a significant reduction in the attic as I was putting the stuff up. Outside temp had been 70-72 F but cloudy. Attic temps were 80-85 F. Then the sun came out and attic temps shot up to 105 F in less than 30 minutes. As I was lifting up the 1st sheet, I could feel the heat reduction on my face. It was significant..When I finish the job, I’ll update but for now, I’m happy as a hog in the mud.

Good product
I added 4” of insulation and this radiant barrier to my attic. I could immediately feel the difference in my house. Very effective, I used thermal imaging before and after. The results were surprisingly good.

Inexpensive but works
I was skeptical about this but after installing a few panels on my garage attic right away noticed the difference between the temperature. Temperature difference now is minus 40 degrees no BS

Reduced the Radiant Heat in My Attic
Installed the radiant barrier in my attic and noticed an immediate difference. During installation I checked the temperatures of the attic roofing on a sunny day. The wood sheathing without the radiant barrier was 137 degrees, and the area covered by the radiant barrier was 93 degrees. My HVAC was able to keep the set temperature through days with 115 degrees heat index, something it couldn't do last year without the barrier. I also appreciate the need for a radiant barrier more now. When I was taking temperature reading with my infrared thermometer I could feel the radiant heat on my face when standing under the uncovered roof sheathing, and, the area under the radiant barrier was noticeably cooler. I rec getting a battery powered staple gun, I used over 2,000 staples and it was much easier to just pull the trigger.

It looked to be great quality for value
A friend found out I was doing and gave me foam board panels. I would have used this on top but I had rented a lift and it came too late

Cost savings and product review
The media could not be loaded. Prior to purchasing and installing this product I was unable to find any personal reviews about electrical utility bill savings. I have been monitoring my electrical bill usage and dollars for this summer after installing the radiant barrier in March 2023.. I am very happy to see a huge amount of savings for hot months. I have a 2 story 3350sf home in southern Louisiana and it can get extremely hot in the attic (140 deg plus). After installing the radiant barrier in the attic it has not gone above 110deg even on 98deg days. The attic space, ceiling insulation, air handlers, and ductwork are all much cooler in the summer time. My AC units do not have to work nearly as hard. Looking at the chart printed from Cleco Energy company, comparing 2022 to 2023. It’s easy to see actual dollar savings for the summer months. After two months installed this product more than paid for itself.Review is only for the flammability of product. It will not catch fire easily. If burned for a few seconds on the flat side it will only shrink. If turned for the edge to light it will catch after a few seconds and burn quickly. Basically the mylar (plastic) reinforcement is exposed and catches fire. See video.
