If you really don't know what it means to be proactive, you need this book!
Before reading Chrissy's book, I had no idea what being proactive really meant. When I got feedback from bosses, they would say "be more proactive." I've even lost jobs due to my lack of proactivity. Finally, I decided to do something about it, and that's when I came across Chrissy's book. The Proactive Professional explains exactly what proactivity actually is, and how to attain it. Chrissy lays out an easy-to-understand, step by step framework, called the Proactive Skillset. The proactive skillset is made up of the following six essential elements: Big Picture Understanding, Situational Awareness, Future Focus, Strategic Foresight, Intentional Action, and Self-Evaluation.Through many real-world examples, including using two fictional characters, Proactive Patty and Reactive Rita, the concepts become really easy to understand and to put into practice. What's great about Chrissy's book is that it can be used not just in one's professional life, but in one's personal life as well. The skills you learn in this book can help you get past all sorts of self-imposed roadblocks.

Every admin / Office personnel should have this book.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Chrissy a few times. Chrissy keeps everything very simple and tells it from the heart, as a former EA she knows where the admins are coming from.Chrissy lays out an easy-to-understand, step by step framework, called the Proactive Skill set. The proactive skill set is made up of six essential elements through real-world examples. The concepts become really easy to understand and to put into practice. I bought my admin team each a copy of this book.

Authority on productivity and go-to resource
If you think you know how to be proactive, you will be surprised after reading this book and realizing what and how much you didn't know. This is a must have resource for every home career and business library. I bought this on Kindle first but made many notes, I decided it was more effecinet to get the softcopy instead.

Great for all existing levels of proactivity - take your time in learning and applying these lessons!
I took my time in reading this book, because the material in it is so meaty (I downloaded it when it was released). I've been familiar with Chrissy's work for some time, and have never failed to learn something from her. In this book, she's really taken her knowledge-sharing to the next level!Normally, I'm a fairly quick reader, but as I said, I ending up taking my time reading this one. The chapters explaining each part of the "Proactive Skillset" wheel deserve to be implemented for awhile before moving on to the next step, since they build upon each other.Whether you're looking to learn how to be a proactive person, or want to increase the proactive skills that you already have, you'll benefit from this book!

Want to excel? Buy this book and apply it!
HIGHLY recommend this book! Reading, reviewing and simply applying the concepts in the first two chapters made a huge impact in my day to day and how I serve my 'customers' - my leadership and my team. Chrissy has been awesome to respond to specific needs as I have been bold to email her. How often does that happen with an author!? I have struggled with being proactive in certain ways since high school and she explains from broad to detail of how easily you can change. It has also helped in my personal life. This book has influenced me to chose to be a better admin with every chapter in so much I bought it for my whole admin group. Buy it!!

A little tattered from overuse...but that's a good thing!
The Proactive Professional guides you through controlling your career by explaining how (and why) causing things to fall into place with your preparation and foresight will prepare you to create your own path versus responding to a changing professional landscape or organizational changes after it has happened. Simple & on the mark
No jargon or management fluff at all. Yet very effective. It summarizes pretty well what qualities you need to have at the bare minimum to be successful.
