Have used Ascent Protein for years, love it. Quick and mixes easy. Tastes better to me than any others I have tried.

This protein powder is surprisingly good. It’s creamy without the lumps and grittiness that many protein powders have. We have used both the vanilla and chocolate and both taste good, the chocolate being our favorite. Also, it is not overly sweet, and we do not like ones that are way to sweet. I use half milk, half water to mix it with and it still is creamy. Can be mixed with just water but doesn’t have the same amount of creaminess and texture but it is better with some kind of milk (any milk substitute will work). Important to note that it doesn’t mix with anything hot—it curdles or it cooks it like scrambled eggs. Overall, for taste and performance, I give it 5 stars. Price, as always, when it comes to protein powders, especially good ones, is expensive…which based on price and having 1 drink a day should last a month isn’t too bad.

I had never tried a protein powder that tasted good until I got this one. I have tried plenty of protein powders, vegan and regular ones, and I hated them all. The one I tolerated the longest was the premier protein and it still wasn’t very tasty in my opinion. I went to Whole Foods looking for samples of protein powders but there weren’t many options at my store. I picked a sample of this one to try it the next day. My expectations weren’t too high because this was not the brand I was looking to try and no one had recommended it to me either. When I mixed it I wasn’t very impressed, but it did mix pretty well without a blender. However, when I tried it I was very pleased with the flavor. It wasn’t too sweet or left an unpleasant after taste. It doesn’t taste too strong and I don’t mind it drinking it more than once in a day. I also mix it with Greek yogurt and it helps with my sweet cravings. I’m just concerned that I like it a bit too much and I’m using it too frequently. My wallet won’t be happy about it; but I’m finally able to get closer to my protein goal thanks to this product.

Very high quality protein, very clean and well make but stevia has a bad after taste. Still worth not drinking a bunch of chemical sweeteners though....j....

I'm impressed with the ingredients, both the types and quantities. Just a handful of ingredients vs. 20+ with other proteins. The product smells like cocoa, a very faint cocoa, but it just smells like a real food. As weird as it probably sounds, I like that it doesn't have sand in it, like most protein mixes. I know the sand used in other protein mixes is safe to consume, but I never really enjoyed the thought that I was drinking sand. I drink this type of stuff for sustenance, so I'm not too picky on the taste, but it actually has a decent taste. With 8 ounces of water, it's too thin to taste like much. 6 ounces of water and you can taste the chocolate a little more, it's good enough, but certainly not great. With 4 ounces of water, it just tastes like a hot chocolate drink that has cooled. This is the first protein powder I've tried where it actually tastes good with just 4 ounces of water. The less liquid I have to drink to get the protein I'm looking for, the happier I am. Others have more sugar or sugar substitute added so that it tastes better based on the 8 ounce standard. This has less sugar and so it can't support that much liquid and still taste good. I don't see it as a problem though because now it's just like a quick shot of chocolate protein and I'm good. Not some drink that I'm trying to choke down. My only complaint is the packaging. I can't stand these bags that some protein manufacturers use. Maybe it's more environmentally friendly, I don't know. I ended up pouring it into a large tupperware type container that's used for storing flour. Protein needs to be shaken up every now and then and it's risky to do so with these types of bags because they are very hard to seal. So put it in a solid contain so you can shake it up without flinging protein dust everywhere. Good stuff though. After 10 years of consuming maybe 30 different brands of protein, I think I've found a good one here.

taste is very good. It mixes easily. It does leave a dry sensation in the mouth afterwards but many powders also do this since it does not have many fillers and additives. - Overall, it is a great protein powder

Unfortunately my package arrived opened. The actual package was open and the powder. This is incredibly frustrating as I live in Australia and it is going to cost $40 to return to the US.

There were patches of red colour liquid stains all over the item. The red liquid is hard to wash and and has stain my hands and furniture
