I have a zenscreen mb16ac and somehow lost the usb-c cable that connected it to my mac book pro 13" 2017. what cable do i need to get to replace it?

Thundebolt 3 or 4 USB-C cables, also USB-C with power delivery that should mention like 20-40gbps and 60-100w power (to power laptops and such) if the cable you find is $10 or so, may be too cheap, unless it's like a foot or less in size - Should be $15+ sometimes like $30+ (but those are too expensive), if you buy any cables here on Amazon - return is super easy, so buy 2 or 3 if you can, and try them, if one doesn't work, send it back, and if you can, keep two so you have a backup. Save the 2nd one in a clearly labeled zip lock back and in a desk or where you keep important stuff.

Will this work on a Macbook Air 2018?

Yes! Works great with my 2018. With included USB C cable and no drivers needed!

If you use the included hybrid adapter, the USB C to A adapter, you will need to install the driver (from the Asus website) if you’re using this on an older Mac/Windows.

The only downside is when your Mac goes to sleep, the Asus seems to have issues waking up. I’ll usually have to disconnect then reconnect, to fix this.

This is a minor annoyance versus carrying around a full sized monitor.

Can anybody confirm that mb16amt  works with a smart pen (if so which one) or stylus? for drawing/writing or highlighting pdf?

It comes with a stylus pen that works simply by touch, there are no electronics in the pen.  It works only by touch.  It most likely wouldn't support any of the "smart" features of a smart pen.
