Shock Doctor Men's Ultra Pro Boxer Compression Shorts with Ultra Cup, Black, Large

Haven't worn a cup in 20 years. Now that I'm umpiring, I needed protection behind the plate. These compression shorts are SOOO much more comfortable than the old-school style. Haven't taken any hits to test the cup yet (and hope not to), but seems to be sturdy.

I have two of these now and they are great for my Kumite in Karate. The pouch for the cup makes it comfortable and doesn’t move at all.

The fit which is the most important to me. The cup fits in snug and keeps in place. Compression short is also comfortable and moves well.

Je cherchais pour la pratique des arts martiaux un nouveau short de compression avec coquille intégrée- 1ere chose la coquille est très lourde, j’ai comparé avec une coquille basique qui fait bien le job, la shock doctor fait presque 4 fois le poids. À noter que le nom « carbon » est trompeur la partie de devant qui ressemble à du carbone n’est qu’un simple plastique.- 2eme chose, le profil et la taille de la coquille ne sont pas bien ajustés, l’extrémité en pointe de la coquille gêne au niveau de l’entre cuisse- 3eme chose, le short dit de « compression «  n’a pas vraiment un effet de compression comme d’autres shorts, le terme compression n’est pas adapté, on a un niveau de compression d’un sous-vêtement classique.- 4eme chose, la coquille ne s’insère pas facilement, le caoutchouc en bordure de coquille accroche trop dans la poche d’insertion (une autre matière aurait été préférable)=> Au final je préfère largement la coquille achetée au club 8€

I bought this as an older martial artist, to provide some compression and be able to use the cup. The material is not that thick but ticker than standard underwear. It fits per the size chart but does not provide that much compression. There is some but not what I was hoping for. The cup fits well and stays in place because of the design. However, trying to slip in the cup for a sparring session isn't that easy. You need to take the time to properly insert and adjust it so that it sits properly in the pocket/ slot that is meant for the cup.
