Better-Comfort, Better-Fit, Better-Sound How did you come up with the idea for this product? It all started with one simple question. Why won’t these earbuds stay in my ears? A few years ago, Jon Kurtz took an important call while connected to his headphones. Rather than focusing on the conversation, he found himself distracted by the hard, ill-fitting earbuds. He couldn't keep them in place for the life of him and they left his ears aching. It drove him crazy! Jon wasn't alone. Almost every person he surveyed echoed the same complaints—earbuds just aren't comfortable, they don't fit, and they don't sound good. Everybody agreed, but nobody did anything about it. Until now. We created EarSkinz as an inexpensive way to turn Apple earbuds and EarPods into a killer pair of headphones. We've been blown away by the response we've received, and we'd love to hear your story. What makes your product special? EarSkinz are the first product designed for Apple EarPods and Apple AirPods that offer Better Comfort, Better Fit, and Better Sound. Our goal was to enhance Apple's design and improve the comfort, fit, and sound while adding a touch of color. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Gosh, so many great things has come from this experience. We set out was simply to 'just stabilize' the Apple earbuds, but after receiving our first prototypes, we experienced something extraordinary; we not only stabilized the earbud, but we also found that our design also improved the sound and bass. Soon after, we launched and successfully funded our Kickstarter project, which landed EarSkinz in 44 countries. Now, 4 years later EarSkinz have made their way to over 130 countries around the world and continue to help more and more people achieve a better listening experience every day.
