As good as a factory part
I bought the lower hood to replace the original on my LX178. Like many of them, my hood had tilted forward one too many times and snapped at the hinge area because it is all plastic and there is no strap or decent stop to take some of the pressure off the hinge/prevent it going too far forward. Replacement hood is nicely constructed, perfect color match. Bolted right on to my existing top hood and the grill fit nicely. Initially the grill did bind on the top surface of the front bumper making it very hard to open the hood so I had to remove the grill and grind the lip off the bottom of the grill. Easy peasy on a bench grinder. Popped it back in and presto. I do intend on installing a strap of some sort to ensure the hood cannot fall too far forward again.

Fit right out of the box
This hood fit right out of the box, the grill fit as well. For the cost it was well worth it

It fit
I read a lot of reviews on this and decided to go for it. Not sure where people said they had to modify it to make it work, but I had no problems with it. It fit and worked as expected. Based on the price of OEM parts this is an outstanding deal.

Not a perfect fit.
Not a perfect fit for an LX188. Had to do some carving around the hinges. Hood could not open fully without carving out some of the area near the hinge. It had three extra gussets that the original didn't have; they kept the hinge from operating. Had to use a heat gun, utility knife, and a Dremel tool to make it work. If you're not handy, look elsewhere. Considering that it was half the price of the genuine John Deere part, I went to the trouble to make it fit.

Lx188 lower hood. Great replacement!
Great fit on my John Deere lx188. Lower hood mounted well on upper panel and lower mount. Had to trim a small piece on each side of lower mount so that it could fold open all the way. Perfect color match, very happy with this product. Now just going to see how well the plastic holds up.
