These are amazing for the price, i did make a non slip block to attach them to. There thin, but they work great, (ive been sharpening stones since working at a meatworks 40 years ago) don't waste your money on them kit ones, these will make it easier to sharpen and last much much longer. Mainly use the 400 then 1000

This stone is a real time saver. I use it on my hand plane blades and chisels.

Works great

This diamond sharpening stone has worked well. It is aggressive enough on the 600 side to remove metal from a damaged edge, and the 1000 side leaves a nicely smoothed and refined edge with still some "bite." For a perfect edge, you need a strop, but for the average home chef, the 1000 side leaves the edge in a good place. The stone holder works very well and is secure. I like that it comes with an edge guide to remind you how to hold the blade when sharpening. Overall this set is about as good as you could expect for not very much money. I cannot speak to how long it will last, but it does seemed to be diamond, and I didn't notice particles falling off the stone, so I would expect durability will be at least adequate, maybe better. This is a definite "must" for the home freehand knife sharpener, which I believe everyone who cares about their knives should be.
