The biggest benefit is being able to aim the device properly. These are Good and well built. This did the job for me. However, the finish on the pole is glossy and smooth like a new car finish which makes it slippery and my Wi-Fi Access Point kept sliding down. I resolved this by putting some White Gorilla tape on the area where I wanted to use zip ties and it solved the problem.
