Lucky Line 3-Way Pull Apart Keychain,1 Pack, Red, Blue and Silver (71701)

Very handy! I have a few of these, and keep keys I always have with me on the middle keyring, along with loyalty tags, and have different red keyrings for whichever car I'm driving, and different blue keyrings for whichever city I'm in (home, or visiting my childhood home). The net effect is that I have fewer keys in my pocket. The keyring set is well-made, and feels like it.

I have been searching for a quick-release key ring that was a little more compact and would give me more than two separate rings. After a lengthy search through tons of novelty or gadget keyrings I came across this item. I was already using the typical push to release ring and found that it just made a large set of keys larger. This key ring is perfect because: 1. It has no mechanism that has to be pushed to release or lock the rings back together. Trying to fumble with a locking mechanism can be frustrating. You simply pull firmly on the rings to separate. There is an internal sprung ball system similar to what is used on socket tools to hold it together. 2. It helps keep your keys compact. I have a Mazda flip key, work keys, house keys, and also carry a small knife and flashlight. This ring lets me pull off the light or knife when I need to without carrying a long bulky set of keys that is uncomfortable in my pocket. This item would also be great for camping etc. because you could tie multiple items, knives, lights, firestarters, and whatever else you need together with quick and easy access to whatever you need. I like this little keyring, I bought two and I'm happy with this purchase.

This key ring is excellent for the option to change between my vehicle keys so that I don't have to carry both at the same time. However, the connections are fairly weak and would be better with some type of push button release. As it's currently made, the connections can somewhat easily come apart, so you could drop off a section of keys if you're not paying attention. I'd recommend making the connection stronger, or using a more secure type of connection on future versions.

I have many pull apart key chains, some like this and others magnetic. This one is unique in that it breaks into 3 parts. I got it for my daughter, so I don't know how I would use 3 separate parts for my own situation, but the concept is fab. Also solid and easy to attach and detach.

I started giving this 3 stars but must reduce it to one. This really is a piece of junk... you shouldn't expect much for something this cheap but this is below even a very low bar. There is only one indent ball bearing at each connection; no positive release (just pull). I'm just going to feed it to the nearest land fill... First Posting*** I'm tempted to give this 2 stars but... First, the package came with a big FedEx sticker all over the back of the package and completely hid the instructions. I had to call Lucky Line for help!! That's because the way this works is not like other similar devices. On all my other similar devices, you push a button to release the parts. The picture of this even shows a button on the end. But there is none. It turns out, you just give the rings a "tug" and they come apart. I don't like that because it takes an equally hard push to put the parts back together. This could be painful for delicate fingers. There's only one ball-bearing to hold the parts together. I like three but, to be fair, most similar products (with a button) have two. Maybe one is enough, we'll have to see. Anyway, it's not worth 4 bux to send back so I'll keep it. If I like more after a year's use, I'll update this review. PS. It's a PLUS that Lucky Line gives you a phone number and actually gives you phone support. Kudos for that!

It's an OK key ring. Thus 3 stars. The problem is it may pull apart when you don't want it to. The two parts bind together simply as an "interference fit", so you tug them apart to separate the halves. Since 'tugs' can happen at an inconvenient time what you really want is the kind that has a release mechanism that must be pushed on first before the rings can be released. Even then, there are cheap versions and good quality versions. You can't really tell from a picture. I got mine at the local hardware store. It was gold in color, solid metal, nice feel, a ball bearing based released mechanism. Sweet. I fasten one ring into my old fashion leather key case, then the car key attached to the other end pop right off for when I don't want a lot of weight dangling from the ignition switch.

I have used this key chain for 20 years. It is great because it has three separate detachable key rings. I keep house key on one ring (which is great when you're in the driveway in winter, ready to take a trip and someone needs to run back inside because they forgot their hair dryer), car keys (including trailer hitch lock) on another ring (which is great when someone like your wife needs to take your car), bike lock on the third (which is great when one of your kids needs to borrow your bike lock). I gave one to my 17-y.o. son and normally he is too cool to smile or say thank you. But with this one he said, "Dad this is great. Thank you." And he had a wide smile.

Always wanted a key ring which allowed me to split my cycle keys from my car keys and this worked perfectly. Great fast delivery as well.
