hOmeLabs Small Space Dehumidifier with Auto Shut Off - Compact and Portable

I have three other of these. I have a musty corner in my old house and it works great there. I’ve always wanted one in a similarly musty closet. I bought this one for that and it’s amazing. I have to empty the cup every for or five days it works so well. No more musty coats. Love it.

I want to give this both 5 stars and 1 star. The unit packs a lot of power in a small outdoor porch closet and can be emptied every 4-5 days. No musty smell, and it does a great job. However, Over the past 5 years, I have purchased three of these because the unit/cord quits working. With a new unit, the cord works fine in the old unit. I've tried ordering separate cords but can't find one to fit properly. I now have three units and obviously won't buy another. It's disappointing because it functions so well in this space otherwise. If anyone has a solution, I welcome it!

I purchased this dehumidifier for a small second-floor hallway that receives little/no ventilation and lacks any HVAC return vent. The hallway tends to get musky in warmer weather so this little machine helps remove water and odor from the air. Before purchasing, I'd recommend to review the dimensions this unit is rated for in comparison to the size of your room. Because my hallway is a little large for this small unit, I'd be better off with a larger dehumidifier, but for the price and small footprint, I'm happy with this purchase. Getting a larger unit has trade-offs, such as increased power consumption, noise, size, and cost. It's probably better for a small bathroom or closet as other reviews have suggested. The unit takes a few days to fill up the water reservoir, is easy to empty, and I haven't had any issues cleaning it after 4+ months of use. The fan can be heard when close to it, but otherwise cannot be heard from surrounding rooms and would just be some slight white noise anyway. The unit works exactly as advertised, but I emphasize that it should be used in a room within the recommended dimensions for maximum results.

I'm curious about the negative reviews here. My apartment has a serious mold problem that my landlord refuses to fix. I installed one of these units near two windows with excessive mold. It collects a full container of water every two days and has for a month. It certainly doesn't dehumidify the range that it specifies (150 cubic feet: no. More like 7-14 cubic feet, if I can guess), but it works. I've noticed a huge decrease in mold in my window sills and in the corners of the room. My next step is to buy a hydrometer and measure the change in a more concrete manner. There may be inconsistency in the manufacturing; if your unit isn't collecting water, it might be defective. Try returning it and getting another. As for noise, it creates a small amount of white noise. My last apartment had a massive dehumidifier that was so loud that it frightened my pets. People describing this unit as 'quiet' are probably comparing it to larger, louder dehumidifiers. If you've never had a dehumidifier, you will definitely notice a new sound in your living space, but for me it tends to fade into the background. I think I'll probably end up buying two more, one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom. Wish that it had a larger range, but I honestly can't think of anything negative about this unit except the deceptive advertising behind falsely stating such a large range.

If you have a camper, and are in a humid climate this is perfect for keeping your camper dry. I have a 30 footer and I went the route with the crystals but this is so much better. Think of the investment you have in your camper and think of the damage that excess humidity can do. This is my second one, and I will keep on buying them.

I bought this over a year ago for my basement and it is a workhorse! My basement is humid and this little guy pulls a container of water out of the air everyday and would pull more if I remembered to empty it more often. For example, if I empty the container before leaving for work, it will be full (and automatically shuts off) when I return at the end of the day. So, if I had bought one twice the size, it might be still hard at work when I get home. The dehumidifier runs quietly (much more quietly than the blower fan I set up on a timer down there) and I could not tell you if uses a lot/little electricity. We have five rooms (only two have doors) in our basement and I am convinced this product is doing everything it was advertised to do but our environment is too large for it can handle. Our living space is very wide open and requires a much bigger dehumidifier but I believe this would be great for a smaller, fully enclosed room.

Zero Stars! I purchased a hOmelabs dehumidifier on March 22, 2026 from Amazon. I received it on March 25, 2026. It worked well for about 5 weeks, then just quit working at all. I did all of the procedures recommended in their owners manual to trouble shoot it, but nothing helped. I called the customer service number in the manual a dozen times over 4 days during their published service hours. Each time there was a recorded message saying their working hours were finished (not true) and recommended sending an email to customer service address. Over the next week I exchanged eight emails with them. Each time, I provided the information they requested, and each time a different service agent advised me of a different reason they could not replace it or refund my purchase price. Most of the reasons were totally incorrect (like the 1 year warranty was up when I had only ordered it 45 days earlier). With each subsequent email I would explain the reason why the previous excuses were inaccurate and provide whatever documentation they requested. They finally instructed me to address the problem with Amazon. Therefore I am writing this review. I would strongly recommend no one purchase a dehumidifier from hOmelabs and that Amazon drop their product line.

I have had this unit for one month. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. I am using it in a small bathroom where the fan has not been working effectively and needs repair. My hope was that this little unit would get us by until that repair is complete. There is no window in the bathroom and I have made sure the unit is seated properly and the vents are not blocked. When I first plugged it in, it did not seem to work at all and I was concerned perhaps I had purchased a lemon. On the third day of use, however, it suddenly seemed to 'kick in' and I noticed the tank starting to fill with water. It has continued to work consistently over the rest of the month. I have not had a complaint regarding the AC adapter getting hot as others have reported and the length of the cord is fine given it is recommended to leave 8 inches around each side of the unit when using it. I need that length to get it positioned correctly so appreciate that it is not too short. It does work, is quiet, compact, and the tank does collect water over a period of several days. I am just not convinced yet that it is of significant benefit as the room still seems far too humid for too long following my kids taking their showers relative to how the room felt before using this unit. I was hoping the difference would be obvious as others have reported. I will continue using it and may adjust my rating upward going forward, once I see if this unit continues to work consistently over a longer period of time. I will also turn it off for a few days, then start using it again and try to consciously keep better track of what the family reports pre- and post- usage, make sure they are consistently leaving the door closed when running it, and get their input as well. Based on my own observations thus far, I would not pay more than the $29.99 I purchased this unit for unless it continues working for an extended period of time.

I use it in small RV. It does indeed collect water, maybe a tablespoon at night, but I was hoping for a higher rate of moisture removal.
