Perfect fit and so easy to install
This worked perfectly for our needs. We had a big ugly hole for the pex manifold and this worked perfectly to cover that. I do wish the cover was easier to get off to access it because you really have to use a flathead or something like that to pry the cover off, but we are still happy with it

HUGE Access Panel, looks very nice however. Good deal.
I bought this for a job I was doing in Florida, I live in Illinois but flew down there to paint a relative's condominium. There was a hole in the ceiling of the master bath's shower, because the tenant above 'our' condo had a leak in their tub/shower what have you, and plumbers needed to gain access to their plumbing in our unit. Unfortunately the plumber(s) who did the job must not be very experienced with making holes in drywall, because they made a huge rectangle that was completely off in every way, but it was around about 24" by 14".Now, because I only had so much time to paint the entire condo and I couldn't just leave this ceiling looking like this, I decided I would do an access panel in case the problem ever arises again, they have very easy access to the problem area. At first I went to the nearest Home Depot and all I could find were 14x14 or 8x8, so before finding this on amazon I was getting read to have quite a little drywall job on my hands.Thankfully I found this and ordered it, and thanks to prime it arrived in 2 days and all I had to do was straighten the mess of a hole they cut, make it slightly larger and this thing went right in.The one issue is that there's no real mounting hardware for this thing, so I went ahead and used 8 drywall anchors and stainless screws to mount it, as well as some DAP interior/exterior construction adhesive. After letting it cure for 24 hours I did not like how the screws looked so I backed them out and the adhesive held it in there by itself. I put the door in, caulked around the edges of the access panel's trim where it meets the drywall so there is NO gaps anywhere, and filled the 8 screw holes I made. I then painted the shower's ceiling and right over the access panel and it turned out pretty nice. Unfortunately I worry whether or not the adhesive will hold really well with showers being taken so we will just have to wait and see. Someone may need to put screws back into it at some point if the adhesive doesn't hold, I don't know. The other sort of downside if you can call it one is that this access panel with it's trim is HUGE. Biggest access panel I've ever seen, haha. The plumbers should have plenty of room to work if they ever need to again.I hope this helps someone. Great access panel, take your time and do it right. :)

Great product.
Easy-to-use.

It does the job
The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s a bit fussy. If the wall isn’t perfect or if you slightly drive the screws too far you can easily tweak the frame and then have to make more adjustments to get it to sit correctly

Large access panel
I had a outdoor leaking faucet that needed to be replaced, but the pipe was located under the stair well, with no access to the plumbing. With this access panel, I am able to crawl into the area to remove the dripping faucet, and to install the new one. The panel is located in the living room, but is almost invisible, and can be painted to exactly match the wall color, but in my case it was almost an exact color match, so no painting was required.

Great Product....Incorrect installation instructions.
Oatey has always in my opinion produced great products and this 14" x 29" access panel is no exception. No problems with this seller and received this item quickly. The issue anyone who purchases this panel (#34044) needs to be aware of is the incorrect instructions provided for the measurement of the hole that needs to be cut. The instructions state that the hole size cut in the drywall should be 14" x 29 1/8" for a surface mount installation. When the recessed part of the actual frame flange is measured it is 14 1/8" x 29 3/8" (O.D.), no way would this go into the wall if you cut it to the instructions provided. This will be the correct size hole that will be required to install the frame flange weather you are installing this unit as a surface mount or flush mount. As a 38 year veteran of the home construction and remodeling trade I have always learned to measure myself and not always rely on what the instructions may state. Maybe this panel has been modified over the years and they simply forgot to update the instructions.
