I was told, by my Scottish friend, to buy one of these hats before our visit to the Scottish Highlands, and I plunged for this one.I'm glad I did. It is incredibly lightweight and hardly took up any space in my backpack. I have a very large head and have to buy men's hats more often than not so I was worried this might not fit. I needn't have worried though as the stated measurements (on the advert) were perfect and the hat fitted me like a glove.I'm quite confident in saying that this hat saved me from a face (and neck and chest) of bites from the dreaded midges!Therefore, this hat comes highly recommended by me.

Concept great not tried it out yet but on a recent trip to Loch Awe got eaten alive with the famous midge.Came home and straight on to Amazon for something to add to my fishing arsenal saw this little gem and ordered it. What let's it down is the packaging it comes folded in 4 and the hat has a plastic ring in the brim which is ment to keep the hats shape! unfortunately once folded the ring is bent out of shape and won't go back to it's original shap and intended function.. Had to put a stainless steel welding rod into the brim to achieve the circular shape of the hat as seen in the product photos. Real shame. Something for the manufacturer to think about .What's the point of putting the built in shape ring and destroying it before it leaves the factory..

Sadly... there were no midges in Scotland for us to really give it a try! But we looked hella cool....It does a job!

Prevention of wasp sting, I have severe reaction to wasps anaphylactic shock.Comfortable & light , perfect for the job I purchased it for, good price.

The thing I like about the hat as you can hide the mesh in the rim of the hut good value for money will keep the bugs out of your face would recommend buying one yourself

Soooo much better than making your own out of net sacks! Perfect companion clothing for living outdoors near water and wanting to avoid the biting insects. Every home should have some. 👏👏👏

It a nice enough product if you need to use the net but if you aren't then there is no where for it to be 'packed away' if you push the net to the inside of the hat then you can't easily access the chin straps and it's not very tidy to push up over the brim on the outside. My husband bought the larger gents version and his net will stow away in the brim - very neat.

Gets those pesky wee midges to France.
