Sooo Comfortable
This is the best nights rest ever! I have used it on Many campouts and it is like a cloud. Make it firm or make it squishy, your choice, easy to inflate. It is just the best. I also use it for guest sleepovers and only bad thing is guest don't want to leave!!

Great PVC-free non-toxic air mattress + comparison to ALPS Mountaineering Velocity Air Bed
Recently, I embarked on a quest to find a second air mattress/bed for our 6-person tent since I'm going to start bringing my 2nd kid camping, and our main queen mattress is not going to fit 3 people. Therefore, I decided on a twin, but also wanted a non-toxic PVC-free option. My choices narrowed down to this Lightspeed Outdoors XL and the ALPS Mountaineering Velocity Air Bed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HS7IZMI.I decided to buy them both, compare, and keep the one I like the most.To show the differences between the beds, I'm attaching 4 photos comparing them side-by-side, including width and height, which I thought someone may find helpful. The ALPS bed is the same length, but wider (39" vs 30") and taller (6" vs 4"), and is indeed more comfortable to sleep on for an adult in my opinion. However, it requires a pump to inflate and doesn't feel as nice (though if you use sheets, this is a moot point). The Lightspeed bed self-inflates and only required 8 full breaths to top off, which is a pretty incredible feat if you ask me. If you don't want to bring a pump, Lightspeed is the way to go. However, because it's narrower and not nearly as tall, it's not as comfortable to sleep on.Where the Lightspeed Outdoors XL really loses though is the pack size - if you look at the last photo, you will see just how much bulkier it is compared to the ALPS Velocity. Based on this alone, I'm docking a star.Personally, I'm going with the ALPS bed. It's more comfortable for an adult, I will always have a pump with me when I go camping (I don't backpack), and it packs several times smaller. Your needs may vary, of course.

The closest to glamping you can get while roughing it
Wonderful!!! Confession though: So far we haven't used for an entire night - we were supposed to go camping last week, but then the baby got sick. So sad. BUT I will update when we can with them next. That being said - I still have a lot of initial impressions. We ordered 2 mats and I opened them right away for two reasons: 1) To see if they would actually inflate and make sure that weren't defective (they worked, no defects) and 2) Directions day to let them inflate over night the first time and that, thereafter, they should inflate quickly. After they inflated, I laid on them for over a 2 hours (watching t.v.).Initial impression? COMFORTABLE! I must admit that I had been dubious - these are only about 3 inches and I've used 3 inch blue foam mats before and those weren't more comfortable than an air mattress. But they fold huge. Air mattresses are somewhat comfortable for the first hour - but then as you lose air throughout the night (especially if there is a big temperature change) - my hips always wind up on the ground or at least significantly lower than my shoulders as my bottom weight displaces the air at lot more than my top half. So I looked at this little 3 inch thick thing and wondered if it would just be a mix of the things I didn't like in the other sleeping options. After trying it - nope! Since there is less air and more foam than an air mattress - my hips can not sink significantly lower than my top half. I even opened the valves up for a bit too let lots more air out (to pretend there was a hole or a big temperature change that causes the air to condense) - and my hips just rested nicely on the foam that is a softer foam than the thick blue may ones - very tolerable (at least for the 30 minutes that I tried this) unlike if your air mattress develops a hole in the middle of no where.I am a side sleeper and my hips never hurt on these. I actually let air out of mine to make it less firm! Being firm wasn't uncomfortable, just more comfortable for me with some air out. These fold big. I added pictures, one with a water bottle to show size comparison. The mat that is folded a little smaller I rolled twice - I rolled out with the valves open, closed the valves, opened it and began re-rolling it - using my knees and body weight to push air forward, them when it was 3/4th rolled, I opened the valves again ago that I could finish rolling and push out more air.Even though the following benefit had nothing to do with its function, I LOVE it. All tents and sleeping bags that come in bags that you will almost NEVER get the item back into. These mats come in a bag that has plenty of room to spare - so my big re-roll fit into easily! It also came with velcro straps to wrap around the roll (see pictures). I love that the company was basically "honest" by providing the big bags because they know we can never roll it as small as the factory.Although these fold big, that is not a set back for me, as we don't backpack and rarely camp in places where we can't be parked within at least a quarter mile of our campsite. If you're a backpacker, stay away from these - if you wish you could be a glamper but don't have the funds for a camper-mobile or pop-up tent, these mats are the next best thing. No more tough foam mats or bouncy, leaky air mats for me!

Heavyweight Mattress Keeps You Off The Ground in Comfort!
Absolutely AMAZING comfort. Very thick and robust. This camping pad is NOT for a minimalist. It is heavy and large when rolled up! But the comfort outweighs the issue with the size and weight! I always had what i considered to be the perfect all around pad The Equalizer by Basic Designs. Which was probably the best camping pad made in the early 90's, in my opinion. It was compact enough to always attach to your bag and light weight enough to go anywhere, as well as it had individual separated air pockets for different area's of your back. PERFECT in my opinion. But alas they don't make it anymore. So I started searching for a replacement when it went for a dump. I found this. Lightspeed Outdoors, which is perfect for car camping, or short hikes in. Would I want to carry this down a trail for more than 6 miles. NO... But at my age, I'm only going to canoe in or drive in on a 4 wheeler or drive in and then short hike in. I'm not running down trails with it for a day hike. If that were the case this pad would be too heavy for that. But it is a great pad for comfort. The material is nice. The R value I'm not sure of yet as I haven't used it in cold enough weather at this time of year to test it. But after I do, I'll update my review. But for now the R value seems like a proper rating. I layed on it and didn't want to get up, it is that comfortable. Probably more comfortable than my home mattress. I'm not a light weight. I'm 6'2, 247 lbs and this suited my height and weight easily. The only thing I could see improved a bit, is the pillow end could be a bit higher, and the complete design could go like the old "The Equalizer" with individual pockets for area's of your back. That is the only improvements I could see making on this mattress. That being said, I knew what I was ordering and received what I expected. It is a good mat, exactly what they advertised it was. Just wasn't expecting it to be as large and heavy rolled up, is all. Functionality tho is 5 star performance!

Defectice Product, Bad Service, Bad Experience
The air valve broke after a few uses and it has taken over two weeks of emailing just to have a replacement part sent.I was also told that they will not ship to Canada for a replacement pad if it is deemed defective.Utterly pathetic service. If you get a good pad, you'll be fine. If you get a defective pad like myself, you have wasted $120.The worst part; this pad is perfect in every other way.

Take your sleeping to the next level.
This insulated, self inflating pad makes all the difference when camping. You can dial in the firmness you desire by simply adjusting how much air you keep in it. Great way to ensure you get a good sleep.
