Savory Prime Ham Butcher Bone, Medium and Large, Model: 88801, NATURAL

The good:- My 4yr old 34lb male frenchie with an aggressive chewing style loves these Savory Prime ham butcher bones. That is easily observed via his level of excitement when I show it to him and his tireless chewing on it.- They smell great.- Out of the 15+ that he's feasted on, not a single one has splintered.- It can be given to my pup for 20-30 min a day over 3-4 days. I roll it up in a ziplock bag and get as much air out as I can to prevent mold.- This is much better than him ingesting plastics from synthetic bones.The bad:- Sometimes hard to source locally.- Have to be on the lookout for if chews off the head of the bone (the ball) so he doesn't swallow it whole. This applies to all ham bones, not just this brand.What you need to know:Know your dog. The bone you provide them should be sized appropriately for not only their size but also their chewing style and biting strength. If the dog is strong enough to chomp through the bone when whole then you should anticipate that it's likely going to splinter. That's not a brand/seller problem, that's your problem for giving them too small of a bone. Plenty of literature exists on the internet to help you make an informed choice, and you can always discuss with your dogs veterinarian.

He usually lets me hold his bones for him to get a good grip.. but this one made him so Primal that he let me know I was NOT to touch this.. LOL.. that says to me that this is the High Quality Delicious Bone my dog loves. Don't believe the reviews about choking.. that just means Your Dog should not eat these.. My boy chews it real well before swallowing any bits.. He's so good :D And these bones are too :D

My dog LOVED the flavor of this, but she got so so so sick after eating it. She was passing bone fragments for days, totally lethargic, there was blood in her stool. She is almost 4 and 60 lbs and has had bones her whole life but I will NEVER give this to her again. I was terrified that she had an internal blockage. Luckily she ended up being ok I immediately put her on a bland diet with pumpkin and made sure she drank water because her diarrhea was so bad.Shame on me for not reading reviews first but I would NOT recommend this at all. I'm also not one to post reviews even when i am dissatisfied but for the sake of dog owners buying this I felt it was important. If you're dog is still passing the fragments or any stool at all there is likely not a full blockage so don't panic like I did, just call the vet and see what steps to take next. Also should note that she didn't vomit at all, another sign that it wasn't likely a full blockage.

I have purchased these bones nearly 30 times. They are always fresh and my dog loves them. A couple of times a bone has arrived with a hole in the package and looking grayish. Just didn’t want to give it to my dog. Refunds are quick and easy at Amazon. No questions asked.I love these bones because my dog is always happy to get them and it keeps him busy for a good while.
