Is this controller compatible with 8.1 window deskttop pc

I'd bought this controller for my old laptop which had Vista, used it on the desktop which has 7, and finally, my current Acer ultrabook which has 8.1. It worked great on all three.

On windows 7 its plug and play on windows 8 and up you have to download the driver http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows then you have to download the windows 7 drivers and install it on your windows 8 pc be sure to grab the right version 64 bit (x64) or 32 bit (x86).

Will this work on a Windows PC or not?

I bought this product several months ago and tried it on my computer. The software is somewhat compatible but ultimately this controller is not meant for Windows PC. Your best bet would be to buy a brand-name Xbox controller from microsoft
