Beim Einstellen der Schnitttiefe verklemmt die Hobelklinge oder wird lose, weil der Winkel nicht passt. Wenn man die Schnitttiefe reduziert löst sich die Kappe, welche die Klinge nach unten drückt. Will man eine stärkere Spanabnahme einstellen, ist dies zu schwergängig, weil sich durch den falschen Winkel gleichzeitig den Druck der Klappe auf das Hobeleisen erhöht.Außerdem ist das Hobelmaul viel zu weit, wodurch schnell Ausriss entsteht.
