Is there a trick to get the battery OUT of the charger?

Here we are in 2018 and no one seems to have noticed or mentioned the small triangle / arrow on the end that goes into the charger first. To remove the battery, push it in the direction of the triangle / arrow and pull up on the other end. Forget that left-right or top-bottom business.

The different models of battery have different voltages and ampacity, depending upon model.  Make sure you have the exact battery for your camera.  I wouldn't rely on the picture to provide the battery specifications, but rather on the text which reads:"Includes two (2) Wasabi Power batteries for LP-E8; each with 7.2V, 1500 mAh, Japanese cells "  the "LP-E8" defines the model of Canon Battery that this replaces, which is a 7.2V.  Check your existing Canon battery for that exact info.  The 1500mAh defines how long the battery will power your camera . . . like 1 liter of gasoline will power your car for 8 miles and 4 liters of gasoline will power your car for 32 miles . . I don't see the photo referencing 4.2V.  Buy on the description not the picture.

Opinions wanted... Are these battery packs just as good as the Canon brand for a T5i ?  They seem to last as long?

I have a T3i and a 70D. So the batteries I got for the T3i the two pack you are asking about did not fit my camera. I don't know if your camera and mine take the same battery or not. If you can find the one that fits your camera I definitely think the batteries are just as good as canons. I bought one for my 70D as well and it works great its the right battery and I love it. So basically if you can find the one that fits your camera go for it.

Is this suitable for the Canon EOS Rebel T3 (not the T3i)

Provably not. I think the shape of the batteries are different between the t3i and t3. The little thing that sticks out where battery makes contact with the camera is not the same.
