Small Tank but Incredible Cleaning Power
I wanted to leave a detailed review because this was my first time ever using a carpet shampooer, and I was honestly intimidated before I started. It ended up being much easier than I expected, and now I’m really glad I bought it.First, shipping was very fast and everything arrived in perfect condition. Nothing was damaged and all the parts were there. Assembly was extremely simple. I also really liked that it came with a small bag to store the attachments so they don’t get lost.Using the machine was surprisingly easy. I had never used a carpet cleaner before, but once I started it became very straightforward. One thing people mentioned in other reviews is true — the reservoir is on the smaller side, so you will need to empty it more often. However, a little cleaning solution goes a long way, so you really don’t need much.My cleaning routine that worked best was:1. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly first.2. Shampoo the carpet slowly.3. If the carpet is very dirty, do an additional pass.4. Go over it again without spraying to extract more water.5. Once the carpet dries, vacuum again to lift the fibers. That final vacuum after drying made the carpet noticeably softer. One little hack I discovered: the tank opening is small and I had a large 128 oz bottle of cleaning solution. Pouring directly from that big bottle was messy. I poured some solution into a small water bottle, labeled it clearly, and used that to fill the tank. It made pouring much easier and prevented spills. For context, the room in my photos is actually the smallest and cleanest room in my house. We moved in a few months ago and it’s mostly used as a playroom. No food or juice goes in there — only water. My baby crawls and plays on the floor there, and my older child often sits and plays with him.Even though the room looked clean, the amount of dirt that came out of the carpet shocked me. The water was very dark. What impressed me most was how the machine lifted the carpet fibers. Before cleaning, the carpet looked dull and compressed. After cleaning and drying, the fibers stood up again and the carpet looked darker, softer, and almost new.Another reason I wanted this cleaner was because my kids spend a lot of time on the floor. One of my children has asthma, so I wanted something that could really deep clean the carpet. I also felt comfortable using this because the cleaner I used is designed for homes with pets, and pets spend a lot of time on carpets too.Even if you vacuum thoroughly beforehand, the shampooer will still pull up lint and debris from deep in the carpet fibers. At first I kept stopping to pick up the little clumps it created, but eventually I realized that was normal. I just finished cleaning and picked them up afterward, then vacuumed again once the carpet dried. The final result was impressive. The carpet looked refreshed, smelled cleaner, and felt softer. For my home (about 1,100 square feet, three bedrooms) this machine is perfect. I plan to deep clean the carpets about every two months.Overall, this has been one of the best cleaning purchases I’ve made. It made a visible difference in my home and gave me peace of mind knowing my kids are crawling on clean carpet.

Cleans incredibly well. Going strong over 2.5yrs
I’ve had this carpet cleaner over two years now. I live in a college rental so we knew the carpets were gonna be secretly gross (even tho they’re “professionally cleaned” between each tenant). It has given so much peace of mind and pulled up so much grime every time. It still works incredibly well. It’s easy to use. I have a cat and it’s been great for pulling up hair and removing pet messes (urine). I love the upholstery attachment and use it on stairs, couches, and the car. For the price, this carpet cleaner is an insane deal and I highly recommend it. I haven’t had any leakage but I recommend storing it on the included rubber mat between uses because the bristles will still drip after use.

Worst carpet cleaner ever!!!!
Okay first off I want to say that I understand that this is a cheap cleaner. My biggest mistake was trying to save money. I have a home with wood floors but I do have area rugs (I have a pet free, shoe free, smoke free home and my family only eats in the dinning area) so when it comes to a carpet cleaner, I figured I can save money as it’s just normal maintenance cleaning of a few area rugs every month in order to keep them looking fresh. I liked the attachments to the pet cleaner so I can scrub myself on the high traffic areas. I figured a carpet cleaner with AMAZING reviews and made for spots, stains and animals MUST be more than qualified for my basic needs. Man was I wrong!CONS:Upon opening it I realized how CHEAP it is made. The water/solution tank wiggles in place. It is very small compared to my other ones (I expected the smaller size seeing as it’s hundreds of dollars cheaper) the clean water tank is the kind of cheap plastic you can expect from a dollar store water bottle. The cord is NOT long at all. So expect to be unplugging it and plugging it in many times for one area. The brush roll on the cleaner barely has any bristles (I have no idea how this company expects to clean up after animal spots/stains/spills etc.. if it can’t even clean properly) with this being a small device, expect to be emptying the tank often and refilling it. This device does not heat up water, so expect to add hot water or clean with cold. (my mistake as I should have read carefully) The dirty water tank LEAKS! There is a “T” like tube that if water gets in the top part it’ll spill out dirty water all over the place. But in order to steady the water in the tank to dispose of the water you need to tilt it back and steady it all the way to the sink! I figured okay! I got this! But then I ran into another issue! The tank is designed with two main plastic pieces that are sealed together. As this is not a well made device, the sealed side/corners were leaking!! It’s safe to say this device made a BIGGER mess than it cleaned! I got about a 6’x 6’ area before I had enough!PROS:For people with small apartments this will do a good job when it comes to storing and light cleaning. Buying a $10 water sealant glue at your local hardware store will fix the sealant issue. (But still be aware of the “T” tube on the inside that spilled out water) If you have pets or small children, dont expect a deep clean. It is light weight so if you struggle with the heaviness of a heavy duty cleaner than this would be just fine. This does come with a rubber mat. It’ll help in order to prevent more of a mess with all the leaks. The attachment works better than the device itself, so if you don't mind elbow grease than that would be the best option.I am very disappointed and returning it. The $300 plus price range on a better quality carpet cleaner is looking a lot less expensive after the experience I’ve had with this one! Save your money and dont buy OR be fully aware before you buy!

Cleans Well...and but Leaks Badly
This little Hoover had great suction and cleaned very well, but it leaked like crazy--even after the dirty water tank was rinsed and emptied. Park it on tile or linoleum between water or room changes. Make sure tanks are empty and dry for storing. Good cleaner for the price. A Bissell I tried kept overheating and shutting off, and then fried itself on the 4th use, so I'll keep this Hoover for now.

PRETTY GOOD OVERALL
We had a professional carpet cleaner do the entire house back in April with fair/good results. The problem is we have a very light-colored (almost white) beige carpet with high traffic area blackish track marks in and out of the den and master bedroom. I tried carpet sprays, I tried powdered carpet cleaners, etc. to no avail, which was why we called the carpet cleaner back in April. So he got most of the high traffic area marks to look maybe 80-90% better, but he did not clean the area against the front of the couch bc he couldn't get the edge of his machine close enough to the couch. He should have just moved the darn couch a foot back like I did a few days ago so he could get to all the carpet. In any event after only three months, we started to see the same dirty high traffic areas reappearing even though we never wear shoes in the house and the carpets in our den and master bedroom looked like they needed a light cleaning again because it was not really 100% when the carpet cleaner finished. He said it was an old carpet and hey what can you do? Rather than have the carpet cleaner come back out for an afternoon with the need to start moving furniture, tables, plants etc. again, I figured why not give this machine a try? It was worth it because this Hoover has done a good job overall, I did need to go over the carpet in the den 2-3 times to get rid of the blackish high traffic areas and did the area in front of the couch three times because the professional carpet cleaner didn't bother to clean there. I asked a family member to look at the entire den when I was done and they said 100% better. It actually looks BETTER than when the professional carpet cleaner cleaned it! This is a 20-year old carpet in a heavily used area and it actually looks really good now. As noted, I had to do the den twice and the black high traffic marks three times, but so what? The bottom line is the carpet looks great now. Overall, I am really impressed with this machine. Everything works the way it says and it is a snap to use. PLUS the suction is so good the carpets are barely damp when done and are dry (at least in our low humidity climate in the desert) within a few hours, even though I used a few full tanks of solution in one room (den). With the clear brush cover you can see all the dirty cleaning solution being sucked back into the dirty water tank as you go over the carpet. I do note that I have to go pretty slow back and forth on both the cleaning and suction strokes in order to let the machine roller clean the carpet and then to allow it to suction out as much liquid as possible, but no big deal, the results are worth it. I had a little difficulty getting the HOSE attachment plugged in to the machine to do upholstery, but I used a touch of silicone spray on a rag where the water nozzle plugs into the machine and that fixed it. I've seen a few complaints that the cleaning solution bottle needs refilled often or the dirty water tank needs emptying often. Yes, you will need to refill the cleaning solution container a few times if you go slow enough to actually allow the machine to clean the carpet in a large area, and the dirty water tank fills up fast (it also has an audible change in tone to let you know you need to empty it), but no big deal. I keep a 5-gallon plastic bucket in the room I'm cleaning and empty the dirty water in there and just take the one big bucket out to empty it when I 'm done. I would advise maybe NOT emptying the dirty water container into a sink or toilet because there may be lint, dirt, etc. in there which may clog drain pipes?Bottom line - very impressive results for a great price, and the entire unit and attachments seem to be high quality. It is also REALLY easy to rinse the roller areas and dirty water tank when done. THE ONLY GRIPE I HAVE IS I DID NOT GET ANY 'SAMPLE" CLEANING SOLUTION WITH THE UNIT DESPITE THE BOX AND INSTUCTIONS SAYING IT COMES IN THE BOX. HAD I NOT ORDERED A CONTAINER OF THE HOOVER OXY SOLUTION WHICH WAS DELEIVERED SAME TIME AS THE MACHINE I WOULD HAVE HAD NO CLEANING SOLUTION AT ALL. Overall, I am really satisfied with this carpet cleaner and I wish I would have bought one years ago.

Much easier to handle than larger model but with a trade-off
My 10-year-old large-model Hoover carpet cleaner finally died, so I thought I would try this smaller version. This model is very light and easy to maneuver, but as other reviewers have said, with the smaller size comes more frequent tank changes. The other larger model had a switch to change over to rinse-only, (the concentrate container was a tube that was molded into the clean water tank, which was much more efficient. The switch just closed off the solution chamber.). With this smaller model there is only one clean water tank and since you have to use the same container to rinse that also houses the solution, you have to empty the container, rinse it out, add plain water and then go over the carpet to rinse it. However, this machine does an excellent job cleaning carpet and it definitely does a great job with suctioning moisture; my carpet definitely dried faster. The other thing to point out is, that I had a 10X12 room with very used carpet, so I did miss my larger and more efficient model. I changed the tanks at least a dozen times. I would say that if you have multiple rooms with carpet, and plan to clean your own carpets rather than hiring a professional service, it would be a good idea to consider a bigger model. It would definitely save you time. I am a fan of Hoover carpet cleaners and as I mentioned before, my other one lasted for 10 years. To me there is no question about the quality of their equipment.

Great Buy
Sooooo freakin good! I had to work a double shift and wasn’t able to let my dog out to go to the bathroom. She peed on the carpet and I decided it was time for a serious carpet cleaner. It’s very easy to use, it’s simple to clean. I think that was the Part that surprised me more than anything. The suction is exceptional and it cleaned my carpet back to normal when I was getting ready to throw my carpet out. I’m so glad I bought this machine. It’s the best one I’ve ever used. Seriously, a GREAT investment.! I wish I would’ve taken before and after pictures, but it cleaned my carpet back to new.

Great purchase minus the leakage
Debated over purchasing one of these items finally went through with it. Got over using the small handheld item. I found this product to be helpful at picking out the stains that I needed. I will have to go over them probably every 5 to 6 months. But because they are traffic areas and if nobody’s wearing shoes, I’m not surprised due to the oil on people’s feet or pets in the house. I was a little unhappy with the fact that the product was leaking after use however, after reading other reviews, the simple solution was putting a towel down and setting the carpet cleaner on top of that when I was finished to allow that to soak up any leakage.

Best thing I’ve bought in years
If you, like me have been thinking of getting this and you aren’t sure please run don’t walk. Run to buy it. I was afraid it wouldn’t be powerful enough since it’s compact but it’s amazing. I’ve had bigger carpet cleaners before but this is by far the best one. It completely dries the carpet with a few passes after it’s cleaned. Completely dries them. Best purchase ever. And it’s compact and easy to store. It’s not as noisy as the bigger machines. 10/10!!!

Gets the job done
I bought this as my new puppy isn’t 100% house trained yet. I pre treat the spots with pet urine / enzyme spot cleaner then do a couple of passes with the machine and it gets it right out.Sometimes it seems like the solution in the machine keeps going onto the carpet, even when I’m not squeezing the handle to dispense it. So I remove the container with the solution when I go over the carpet to suction up the moisture. The stair attachment works well and has a decent size hose. The machine is easy to clean. Hoover includes tools for that plus a bag with a hook to store the hose attachment and tools.
