MFJ-1984LP EndFed 1/2 Wave 30W 40M-10M Wire Antenna

I use this antenna with my icom 718. It does need a tuner for ideal operations

I installed this antenna and worked Brooklyn NY in the late morning and Chile in South America in the evening using only 20 watts on 10 meters without the need of a tuner and I did not need to trim or tune the antenna. I will be buying another one for portable use! Definitly 5 stars!

Set it up the first time on top of a steep hill in slope mode. Very easy to set up. SWR started at a bit over 2.0 but my tuner got it down to 1:1. Excellent.Using a Yaesu FT-818 QRP 5w transceiver in Missouri, I was able to establish contact with another Ham in Atlanta, Georgia. His signal was 5-9 mine was only 5-3. I attribute this to the fact that my antenna was surrounded by trees. The straight line distance is about 500 miles.Highly recommended. Very versatile antenna.
