Nothing wrong with the product.
It worked the way it was designed for unfortunately the elicenser wouldn't download the the activation code on my mac. I kept getting the same error message that the elicenser is too old and that I had to install a newer version which I couldn't because the operating system on my mac was too old.

Save yourself - Avoid this nightmare
1. Avoid dongles with Studio One and StaffPad (now with Spitfire/Zimmer & Berlin instruments)2. My 3rd dongle casing just broke switching to a laptop. Still too big. Still not metal.3. On a Surface Book, you can't use tablet mode. Unplugging dongles crashes programs that use it.4. It's an old practice by old companies. Adobe, PreSonus, and others don't do it. They don't need to.5. $50 + $14 shipping... for a thumb drive with no storage, just a ball and chain after already spending $,$$$Steinberg lost a programming manager and the dev who created the VST3 standard... They left to create Studio One (PreSonus). Then they hired devs from Pro Tools and Logic. It's quickly becoming the new industry standard for the 2020's. Major film composers over 60 are slow to switch, but the rest of us are moving on.Get ahead by avoiding this.
