So there is a little piece of fabric attached to the contents of the box, you can make a test at home to find out if the silk is authentic. At least that little piece of fabric for test truly is silk. I did the test. The fabric of the pillow seems to be the same fabric, so probably silk, although I could confuse it with rayon as rayon looks and acts similar.Anyway, it is nice to sleep on, soft and slippery, comfortable and doesn't get too hot as some other fabrics like cotton sometimes do. It is pleasantly cooling in comparison. I am happy with the purchase, took an ivory/off-white color, it looks very nice and matches the rest of my linens so well. I didn't however notice any difference on the skin or hair, I slept on that pillow for around two weeks now. I still like it though, but don't expect miracles.

I love it! I thought it would make me hot and sweaty like polyester, but it doesnt. It is wonderful.

I hesitated because it says to hand wash, but I have washed it in the washing machine and dried it in my dryer many times and it hasn't shrunk. I like the ease of care. What a difference!Wish I had even known of or thought to buy a silk pillow case years earlier. I am actually sleeping better.
