my stove has a hard fireboard in the top, we burn a lot of wood so the board is getting used up, this will go on top for extra fire protection.

I put this around some single-walled stove pipe in an out building. It keeps the heat away from a couple of inconveniently placed objects in the shed. When the exposed pipe gets up to 700 degrees, the outside of the insulation doesn't even get up to body temp with a fire that's been burning for hours. Buy some scissors that you're willing to trash, and getting this stuff down to size is easy.

Used to replace my insulation in my dishwasher after the previous became soaked. Robust and worked well to dampen sound and avoid too much heat to the surrounding cabinets.

Flexible, easy to shape and cut. Compress well.
