This works great for any project where you need to add a U.FL connector. In my case it was used to modify an OUYA to support an external antenna.These are tiny parts so make sure you have the right tools. Magnifying glass, tweezers, fine tipped soldering iron, and patience & skill. Because it's so small, it can't take a prolonged amount of high heat (I accidentally melted one the first attempt). Nothing wrong with the part, it's just a physical limitation of size. I found the best results with the soldering iron on a high heat setting and quickly melting the solder onto the pads (pre-tinning them). Cut off a _tiny_ piece of solder wire so that you can hold the U.FL connector with a pair of tweezers while using the soldering iron to coax the small cut of solder wire onto the pads.

I used them to add an external antenna to a Raspberry Pi4. Works great.

Upgraded my internal-only antenna style Linksys wireless router to have external antennas, only to realize the internal antenna leads are soldered on. This product fixes that! I desoldered the original antenna leads and soldered these pads in place, making sure to get the polarity correct (verified by looking at the backs of these PCB mount pads). Work great and soldered up perfectly.

These are perfect for what I needed, but a pain to install because their so small, need tweezers and magnifier in order to solder them to my boards. Frustrating.

These connectors are not the ones used in laptop NVME wifi cards. Luckily these fit on raspberry pi zero antenna smd pad, so I'll use them for that application. The footprint of this smd connector is 3mm by 2.8mm. The connector itself is 2mm

I soldered these onto my VTX board for FPV quad using my regular soldering iron. Was replacing originals that got pulled off. Worked out great and on securely. Required some pretty serious magnification though haha!

These are a bit high in price but I needed them fast. I used these to add a u.fl connector to a raspberry pi zero. Pay careful attention to which pad connects to the center pin.I'm glad they came in a pack of two because they are extremely sensitive to heat. I attempted to use hot air set for a leaded-solder based profile and the first one completely melted. The latter was affixed with a soldering iron and even that melted a little.This isn't my first time soldering these types of connectors. There are better quality connectors out there that aren't as sensitive to heat.
