It works great on counters and hard surfaces. I bought especially for the dining tablecloth as no matter what we have for any meal, there always seems to be crumbs - without bread. And with only two seniors. The cloth is thin linen and looks wonderful on our oval table. The suction does not pull the cloth (whew), but it is a little challenging sometimes to get some of the crumbs. I am thinking the material does not want to let go, and the beetle does not want to give up either. So, as my mother used to say, pull the vacuum slowly so it reaches down into the carpet to pull the dirt. I tried pulling it slowly and got much better results. I used to have one of the brush ones still advertised here and, I guess the bristles wore down and we decided to part with each other. I would buy this again. And as someone said, twist the top gently to the left and it will come off and do the opposite to close after inserting batteries - slightly off centering on left and turn to right - closed. I use a rubber grip to help as it is really smooth.update 2/28: Well today I finally learned what to do with this difficult cloth. Don't use as a regular vacuum. whisk it back and forth and in a circle - works a lot faster. Now I am really happy!

Oh my goodness, this little thing is being used every day by my kids and me, no more silly crumbs and dust, it’s easy to clean, it’s so light yet pretty powerful, suction is great for such a small product, all in all it’s a good purchase for sure. Battery is still ok after over a month of use and it really is so cute! Get it!

I bought two on a whim because they looked so damn cute - one for home and the other for work. It probably took at least two to three months before I had an actual use for either - spilled something on a difficult to clean off section of my desk. I didn't even remember I had it until I opened my drawer to find a tissue.Worked like a charm on the first go. Nice and quiet, I was able to use it during a conference call with no one noticing.The batteries can be a bit hard to install as the back where they go is snug to open.The instructions that came with them are a bit unhelpful. I see someone has added better directions to the Amazon page though.Bottom line - they both work just fine and I'm thinking of buying one for our office holiday gift exchange.UPDATE: I did buy one for a gift exchange and the recipient was delighted. Keeping this one on my list to buy for others now.

This handy little gadget is intended for cleaning crumbs and such off your computer keyboard. It does that. I had read, however, that it is also useful for cleaning crumbs off tables, countertops, and so forth so I decided to try it out. It works quite well as a "countertop vacuum"! The suction is surprising for its size. It works quite well for picking up dry crumbs and powders from the countertops, stovetop, tabletop, and similar surfaces. It does not, of course, scrub off stuck-on messes nor pick up anything damp but it's not intended for that.I didn't find the instructions that were included to be particularly clear nor helpful. It took me a bit to figure out how to open it to put the batteries in. Opening it to clean out the inside is also a bit awkward; in actuality, it is well-made enough that the pieces fit together tightly enough to make taking it apart a tad difficult! As with putting the batteries in, I was afraid of breaking it. I did finally figure out how to get it apart.This little vacuum is one of those things I didn't know I needed until I got one. It's the easiest way I've found to remove crumbs without getting them mostly in the floor!

This little lady bug is useful for cleaning crumbs off the countertop. It works very well on my tile counter. The suction is quite strong, and picks things up with no problem. It is easy to take apart to empty the crumbs. This cute little big looks cute sitting on my counter. The size fits in your hand perfectly, is quite quiet, and is a great value for your money. I highly recommend!!!!

I do lots of crafting and this little lady is powerful small but mighty

It works and it has a nice feel in my hand but getting the top off to place the two AA batteries required was not easy! It required twisting and tugging. Then getting the top properly seated again onto the base after the batteries were installed took many, many tries. Finally, to empty the black base to discard the waste requires applying pressure to push down on a small black circular area which is difficult for my arthritic hands. I really wanted to love this vacuum as it's so darn cute but practically it's just too much of a bother to work.

Love it. It is the best table vacuum I have ever had.
