is there a tool for putting the ring back on the keg?

Not that I am aware of. There is a wrench style tool that is curved at the end that is used for removing the ring. I just use a set of precision screw drivers with the compression tool to remove the ring. The trick to reinstalling the ring is start with one end, work it around the valve, then pinch the ring in place. Normally the ring wont be perfectly set, I then release the compression tool, move it slightly and then clamp down again, that motion locks the ring back in place. I must say there is probably a better way but that is what works for me with what I have. Good luck and Cheers!

Yes. Type "D" is the "drop" style which needs to be depressed with the aforementioned tool before the locking ring can be manipulated into place.
