Get while you can
Well done. This is a top notch collection of Mark Knofler's 2009-2018 studio albums. If you're looking at this set you must be familiar with the music. Knopfler continues to age with grace, like the finest of wines.Housed in a sturdy case, the vinyl sounds warm and wonderful. Even though I have most of this music on CD, I'm glad I grabbed this collection. If you're on the fence you should get this now before it goes out of print and is only available on the secondary market for an exorbitant price.

Disappointed, not much guitar
I really bought this CD set to hear Mark's guitar, but it's mostly weird "organ" sounds and not much guitar at all. Mark's a great guitarist, and I hoped to hear a lot of his guitar playing. Otherwise, a really great CD set with lots of good songs!

Mark Knopfler Solo Albums, Part 2
I love this second collection of Mark Knopfler’s solo work. The sound is fine but not as good as I expected. What I love about this set is that it shows a more contemplative, older Mark Knopfler. It is quite different from his work with Dire Straits.

Nice set-mastering better than the previous set but not ideal (Ludwig did the remastering).
A nice set of Mark Knopfler's later-day solo career, this set comes with a disc of previously unreleased material, bonus material available only online, from deluxe editions or b-sides. It's a solid set. Each album is in its own cardboard jacket with a folded up lyric sheet included for the ones that had them. There's also-oddly-cards with each album cover on it. Don't know the purpose of that but as an extra, it's kind of unnecessary unless you want to frame these mini-covers.The music-a series of very good to excellent albums are represented here. Miles Showell has been replaced as mastering engineer by Bob Ludwig (a good thing in this case) for, while these are closer to being brickwalled compared to the individual HDCD releases (no, these are not HDCD enabled which is a software used to allow for greater dynamic range when decoded from an HDCD player), they sound decent considering that they are compressed more so than the original releases. The good news is that these discs sound better than the previous set. The bad news is that compression was applied. Seriously guys, folks that are STILL buying music probably want these to NOT sound like their streaming counterparts. Full dynamic range would be appreciated. For that, though, I'd suggest the vinyl although it is a bit spotty in QC right now (they were made in the Czech Republic at the same record plant that has had a spotty QC history for reissues for Universal). The clamshell box is nicely done and the packaging is quite good. Overall, this is a very good presentation of a strong series of albums. The drawback is that Ludwig should have gone for the full dynamic range of the albums and not used compression or EQ to push the levels up. I didn't notice any distortion just that, even compared to the previously issued CDs, these are louder. Louder isn't good in music as you can't crank it up-it only damages the sonic integrity of the music guys.

Pristine this time - mk's box set number 2!
This review is only about the much-improved quality control of the Czech Republic-manufactured box set #2 compared to box set #1 last year (per reviews and my experience). Keep in mind, my sample is just one set, but hopefully someone got the message. amazon double-boxed the set haphazardly as usual, in a much larger box with no cushioning, but the factory foam-padded box protected all the corners of the heavy boxset from any harm. all the contents were there and were pristine. the vinyl itself was CLEAN (NO dust) and unmarked (no whooptee-doos on the surfaces as i found on the bonus lp on #1). Kudos, at least on the copy i received.
