Shadow of the Castle Paperback – November 18, 2016

A well-written book with excellent characterisation and a great sense of place. Really enjoyed the setting and the quirks of the characters. I would have liked some more suspense in the plot - maybe a little grittier - but all in all, a good start from this author.

A good first foray into writing. The book provides a good insight into the everyday hustle and bustle of the Edinburgh streets and is especially interesting to someone who has lived in the city. The story was a little slow to start but once the characters were developed I found it hard to put the book down.

Thoroughly enjoyed this from beginning to end! It will have extra appeal to anyone who knows Edinburgh. A well constructed story and excellent ending. Highly recommended!

Great read. Interesting characters!

A page turner taking you on a journey through Edinburgh with some colourful characters.Excellently written, full of humourous anecdotes. Hope to see more of Luke Calvin!
