The Master and The Marionette (The Pawn and The Puppet series Book 2)

Basically mind blowing and I'm so eager to know what happens next like i don't know that whatever i predict is unexpectedly different and it's so much interesting to know what comes next, and Dennis oh godd!! Seriously he's so mind blowing and whatever he's gone through, I'm perplexed and he's unpredictable.

The twists in the plot are amazing with no previous foreshadowing. This is a hard feat to come by when writing a series and it is accomplished in these books. I can already tell this is going to be a series that I will wish I could read for the first time again.

Another book of Brandi’s I finished too fast, and now another waiting game for book 3, and let me tell you. The anticipation MIGHT just kill me.She knows exactly what she’s doing with her writing and storyline and CHARACTERS to keep us asking so many questions and wanting so much more. Honestly, you know an authors good when a book ends and all you can do is ask yourself fifty different questions that you know you won’t get answers to until the very last book of the series.That’s where I’m at right now. Waiting. Asking questions. Wanting answers. It’s a problem, honestly 😂

𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: dystopian dark romance with a fantasy twist, soulmates, found familyI have NEVER felt so exhausted after finishing a book. The last 2 nights I stayed up until 4am (again) to read/finish this book and let me tell you I’ve never went from ‘complete shock and disbelief’ to ‘bawling my eyes out’ so fast..The setting in the beginning felt fun, light & I was enjoying myself the whole time while Dessin and Skylenna went on a fantasy side quest HAHA but that turned out to be something I was NOT expecting. This book, this whole series, continues to shock me every time.But later the book took a very crazy turn. I cried an unhealthy amount of tears. I constantly had to close the book and wipe my eyes and nose. I thought the middle of the book would break me but no.. the last “arc” annihilated my heart. It was gut wrenching, heartbreaking, soul shattering and I simply have no words left.Two plot twists happened in the last half of the book and.. I just can’t. I hope Skylenna gets the healing she deserves because I’ve never felt so bad for a character before. It breaks my heart to see her like this..But besides all the devastating things.. Dessin in chapter 38??? OH MY GOD ❗️ I was cheering, screaming, yelling, chanting, shrieking and then when it was over, it all hit me.. and I cried again HAHAI wish I could just scream it out but I won’t spoiler you guys.Dessin, Skylenna, Kane… they all, every cool side character owns my heart and the “found family” trope in this book is very strong.This series is both my comfort & asylum. I’ll cherish it and cry about it. I’m so happy the universe brought me to this beautiful, unique story and I’m also grateful that Brandi wrote it. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into this 🤍🖋️

Brandi has done it once again with the sequel to her amazing first book The Pawn and the Puppet. I couldn’t wait for this one to be released when I finished the first book. The excitement and anticipation had me on my toes for weeks leading up the release and when it was finally released; I had to go back and read the first book to refresh my memory ready for this one. And what a wild one it has been!After Brandi left us with the cliffhanger in the first book that revealed there was more thanTwo alternates; I couldn’t wait to get to this one and meet the new personality. Greystone. Only to find out there is a lot more! I can’t remember all their names because most of them haven’t truly made an appearance. It seems Kane and Dessin are the main characters with Greystone coming in a close third. (The reason why he appeared was really sad. Poor Kane and Dessin.) And then the other alters Foxem, Aquarius and Dai. (Think there were another two mentioned as well) are just backups. Kinda like the back up actor to a play. It has been enlightening to meet the new personalities. But my heart truly lies with Dessin. I look forward to reading Skylennas interaction with him. And tend to want Kane to shift out every time he turns up in the chapter.The plot to this storyline is only thickening as time goes on. We’re finding out that skylenna and Kane have a past that goes back years together, and it’s just a waiting game of hoping skylenna can remember. I’m hoping Brandi reveals why skylenna doesn’t hold her childhood memories as I don’t think it can surely be because of the attack from her father.The anticipation for the next book is already taking me over. Six months between each book is too long! I need this books released on the monthly. Step it up Brandi!!! I knew this book would end on a shock value like the last book. And as soon as Dessin said he had kept something hidden from Skylenna, I knew what it was going to be. Predicted it! Can’t wait to read the third book. Brandi is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. And I’m hoping she has much success for years to come because she truly deserves it. The time and effort she has put into these novels truly shows. Her books are better than some of the authors who have been around for years and I think that is truly an accomplishment all on its own and she should of proud of herself.Much love Brandi :) hope you read this!

Wow.. just wow.. this book was definitely better than the first one. I enjoyed every moment of this book! I enjoyed the amazing amount of spice in this book. It was intense but enough for the book. It didn't take over the plot. I mean I am here for more Dessen and Kane, I enjoyed the plot! Their twists and turns that this book took us on. There was lots of heavy themes in this book so please check TW before reading. That cliffhanger at the end though?!?! I was not ready for that. I was not prepared for that to happen. I am happy to see that a few more "secrets" are coming to light I am definitely hooked and excited to read book 3. Another amazing work by Brandi and I look forward to reading further.
