Good Product
I have installed these in three of my vehicles and they all work with no issues. Just make sure you order the correct USB connection.

Works As Described With One Exception
Instead of shutting off after five minutes, it actually shuts off after about twenty minutes. That's not an issue, just noting the difference. I assume this device is measuring battery voltage to determine when the car is off or running. Charging voltage on a car battery is around 13.5 to 14v (when engine is running). When the car is turned off, the battery is no longer being charged and voltage is just the battery alone @ 12V. I think that's how it works.

So far, so good
Connected Rove Dash Cam that I purchased on Amazon. So far, so good. One thing to know, the power stays on for 5 minutes after you shut off your car...BUT...if you have a car with auto shut off when you come to a stop, it confuses the power on the OBD...a couple of times the camera shut off...not sure why as the power from the OBD is suppose to work for 5 minutes after power is shut off. I just pressed the camera pwr button when the car started up again. I will update after a month using the OBD cable. So far, so good.

Works great for my needs
This product is working great for my needs. I just needed my dash cam to run while my vehicle is on otherwise the camera will drain my battery. It was easy to install and has been working great for me specific needs. I would say this is much easier than other options out there or trusting a dash cam to shut off on its own.

Turns power off after several minutes in even when car is running
Simple device with a fairly simple job: send power to my dashcam when the ACC is on. Unfortunately it doesn't do what it says. The device cuts power to the dashcam after five minutes, even when the car is running. You have to use the always-on mode, and then deal with the well-reported issues of running your battery down if you forget to turn it off. Will have to return it :(UPDATE: It turns off in ACC mode after several minutes; how long it lasts before shutting down varies every time.UPDATE 2: Ordered another to see if the first was a dud. The product itself is a dud. Same issue w/ power shutting off after random amounts of time.Used on a 2015 Chevy Malibu. Saw another similar product (looks identical, actually) w/ a note buried deep in the description that said something like 'based on customer feedback this product doesn't appear to work with many GM and Toyota vehicles'. If they know that to be true, that information should be much more accessible.

The best OBD Car Cam cable I ever needed.
I have been using Rear master since 2016. It powered My Yi cam, Apeman Cam. And now my Rove R2-4K. It always turns on when you turn the car on and shuts off 2minutes after parking with the off switch. If you want it on all the time just turn it on.

DOES NOT WORK WITH CURRENT VIOFO DASHCAMS. .
2024 UPDATE: Worked fine with an old Aukey dual camera. My 4K VIOFO dual flickers and continually restarts with this unit. Most high end dashcams draw more power than those from 5 years ago.———Original review:My car's accessory plugin does not shut off, so I needed a solution that did not require major surgery to connect my capacitor-powered Aukey dual dashcam to the fusebox. This did the trick, as my OBD port is easily accessed just under the dashboard. I turn it off when parked at home and keep it on when parking in public places to catch any potential hit and run collision or car prowlers. The 2 times I forgot to turn it off and parked for a couple of days, my 8 cylinder car's battery needed a slight boost to start because of the 11.6 volt cutoff, although it was not drained completely. That should be higher, say 12.2, or adjustable, but I can live with it.The company makes similar units with USB connectors that will plug in directly to webcams (or other devices), but I prefer this setup because it gives me more cable length for routing, and I can easily hook up a USB power bank to my camera out of sight for extended parking monitoring.
