Ruien Universal Air Intake Filter Cover Heat Shield Stainless Steel Carbon Fiber Cover for 2.5-3.5" Cone Filter

So, I needed to get a filter cover and found this one and liked the Carbon Fiber look (Carbon Fiber looks like Hydrodipped - don't get me wrong it's still a good finish). Overall the fit and finish of the part is pretty good. The product came packaged well - bubble wrapped and secure in the box. I however ran into an issue where the brackets that extend from the cover to slip underneath the clamp on the filter didn't line up (the photo on the cover listing shows the bracket piece sitting underneath) so I placed that bracket piece on top and the got the screws in.The metal shield bends fairly easily, you need to be careful not to use too much force otherwise I could see it bending at an angle as opposed to staying rounded. So I brought in my filter and just used that as a template to bend the shield around.Overall, i am pleased with the shield/cover. We'll see how it holds up to everyday use. But if you are in need of a cover - i would recommend it.

Finally a reasonably priced solution. When I bought my car, the previous owner already had an aftermarket CAI on the car, but nothing shielding the filter. Every time the secondary radiator fan spun up, the car would spurratically idle and almost choke itself out because the hot air was being blown directly into the intake. I'm a cheap person, so I've taken old plastic battery boxes and cut them up and folded old license plates to form and beautify some sort of barrier between the filter and that fan since I didn't want to pay 50-60+ for a shield off of some speedshop website.-1 star because the small hardware is annoying, and the metal brackets that go under the clamp are smooth so when you tighten it down, they start to slipp off and take the clamp with it.BUT. (Pretty big bonus here) it's METAL. I was expecting plastic! So instead of it flaring out like a cone when clamped in a circle from one side, you can bend it into shape and it doesn't look as cheap as it is.

It feels alittle cheap and flimsy but it does the job I guess , let’s see how long it lasts

Nice addition to an open/visible air filter. Didn't expect much when I ordered it but for the price, it was worth it. To me, its more of a visual or protective item. You wont have any performance gains for sure. I wanted it to protect my open air filter from anything that could potentially hit it, including water. Heat shield? With this being so open, you are still going to draw in heat from the engine. Maybe in some applications but I doubt it would help.

En mi opinión el producto está hecho con materiales muy baratos de hecho debería costar mucho menos del precio anunciado! Es muy blando y las abrazaderas muy débiles! Es más uso estético que otra cosa ya que realmente no es una protección real decidió a que el metal es muy fino ! Lo instale por una semana y lo quite, compre otro por $29.99 y ese si hace su función realmente! No lo recomiendo (solo estético funcionamiento)
