I got this as a birthday present for hubs and he is over the moon! Really cool barrell and I love that it can be personalized. Received fast too! The seller was amazing about taking care of me after receiving my barrell with crooked monogramming. I definitely recommend them for quality and customer service! Directions for "before and after use" are great and much appreciated! We wouldn't have know how to care for it. Thank you! We can smell the char and can't wait to see what it tastes like!

My custom-etched 5L barrel arrived in 3 days! Etching is better than it appears in the configuration tool, and it looks awesome!It came with a set of instructions in order to prime it for a fill. There was a warning that there may be leaks before the wood absorbs moisture. I soaked it for 1 day in distilled water, then drained it and rinsed the interior and exterior with hot water with hot water. That seemed to get all of the wood chips out. After that, I refilled it with hot water and let it sit another day before draining again. No leaks throughout the whole process, and I've already filled it with liquor for a barrel-aged Manhattan.Note: It's too early to actually review flavor, but with that medium char it smells awesome. I'm ready!

If youre buying as a decoration, its perfect.If youre aging liquor, buy a barrel without clear coating/varnish. Had to sand down the entire barrel so my bourbon can breathe. Also the bung plug doesnt seal as good as it should. But overall, even after sanding, the barrel doesnt leak after you swell it for a few days. A little natural leather fixed the bung plug.My only real complaint is the varnish. If the bung plug was made with the same quality as the barrel, that would be nice as well, but thats not an issue as is the varnish.Custom engraving turned out perfect!I would buy a few more if they werent clear coated.

I followed the instructions to season the barrel with no problems, then filled it with 4 parts gin and 1 part vermouth. After 3 weeks, the resulting aged martini was noticeably smoother, golden and delicious! It's a beautiful addition to my bar, well worth the time and expenditure.

I bought this October 2029 for my husband. Perfect gift! Make sure you follow the directions! We let it sit in water liked it stared and never had any leaks. He said it makes his bourbon so much smoother now sitting in the barrel.

This is my second barrel. First one was a 2 liter. This one is a 3 liter. I followed all the instructions and lwt the cask sit with water in it for DAYS...MANY days...even WEEKS... it STILL leaked and as such, can be used or trusted as what ever you put in it will end on your shelf. Unfortunately, I am now past the return period. I lover the product...just not the leaking. Any chance you can extend the return period for THIS purchase?

It was beautiful when it arrived, but following the direction to actually use it made it ugly and un-presentable. This was supposed to ne used at our wedding, but it looks disgusting.We followed the directions for how to prep, but the leaking caused the pain on the metal bands to bleed and stain the wood.On top of that, the engraved side cracked when it was swelling.It is either pretty or usable, not both. In my case, it was wasted money because I needed both.
