Q: 10 seconds display shut off?

No, It has 3 modes, high brightness, low brightness and power saving mode. In High and Low modes, the timer will stay on all the time while it is working. Power saving mode will automatically rest after 10 seconds.

Q: Are you able to pause the timer? I’m buying it to track how many hours of work I do each day and need to pause it for breaks/lunch.

If you want to pause, just press the "ST/SP" button and the timer will pause, when you want to start, press the "ST/SP" button again and the timer will start again.

Q: How do I get the timer to stay lit?

You can choose the a high brightness or low brightness mode and the screen will stay lit while the timer is working.

Q: Can this large digital timer count up and is it suitable for the classroom?

I am a teacher and I would like a timer that can be used for both positive and negative timers to manage the children's play and learning time effectively.This large digital timer met my expectations
