Works Great, IF You Have A Capable Power Supply
tl;dr: Awesome compact little adapter, given you have a capable USB C out power supplyGot this as a travel adapter for my Switch since I'm on the road a ton. The standard dock is too big and bulky and this is significantly cheaper than the official Dock and the Nyko one coming out in October. I figured since I had a few USB C and HDMI cables laying around, I had everything I needed to get this going right away. This is where this loses 1 star, but more because it's this is not made really clear. If you don't have a really good USB C charger laying around (it needs to be USB C out), this will probably not work for you. I tested 5 different USB A chargers I have, and none worked. It only works with a huge power bank I have which has USB C out and the official OEM Switch AC Adapter. Since I don't want to constantly be unplugging the power from my dock at home, I will have to purchase another AC Adaptor to supply this with the power it needs. As a word of warning, not all USB C out chargers are the same. If it doesn't output similar power to what the OEM AC Adapter provides, you may have connection issues and/or the Switch will actually slowly lose power over time. For a layman regarding electrical charging systems, this stinks because I'm going to end up having to spend just as much on this as I would have buying the official Nyko dock.Final Overview:Pros:CompactLight weightCheapGood solid buildWorks as described, the Switch thinks it's fully "docked" when plugged inCons:Has specific power needs that not everyone will have laying aroundExtra accessories may negate the savings of buying this product vs competitors

Works well so far
I travel for work pretty often so getting a decent charger/dock was a must for me. After probably about 7 or 8 hours of use between the last 3 or 4 locations i have traveled to, this has workd pretty flawlessly with my Nintendo Switch. I will update in the future if this kills my switch, but for now its all going pretty well.Update: After about 4 or 5 months of using this it seems to work pretty decently. It does have some minor connection issues, compared to the nintendo dock. Often times I have to turn my switch on and off once or twice to kick in, but these complaints are minor. Picture is good, fairly consistent (although it occasionally kicks out) and having a travel dock as a person who travels for work 2 or 3 times per month is invaluable. I would recommend this over any other third party docks out there. On a side note for those curious, I use an Anker powerIQ USB charger and Anker cable with this setup and it works flawlessly. With PowerIQ it won't fry your Switch. Best investment in my opinion.

It works, but that's about it.
The most important thing - it works with a Switch running the latest firmware (4.01 at the time of writing and testing). I had it connected to a Pioneer Receiver (and that to a Panasonic TV), and both sound and picture were perfect. The problem is that to make it work is a real pain. First you need to fully power off the Switch, not just put it in sleep. It actually took me a moment to figure out how to do that. Then you hook everything up - including the power cable even if you don't want/need to charge the Switch. Then you switch it on and you should be good. However, if the Switch goes to sleep at any point the screen will go black and you'll need to power cycle it again to get the display working again - at least that's how it worked in my setup.Fine for my intended use (something light I can travel with) - but pretty useless as a full replacement for the nintendo dock.Build quality is actually really nice, no complaints there.

Works just fine, I don't understand what's with all the low reviews...
I work in the IT field, so I have a very good understanding of technology and electronics (especially electricity and voltages). One of the first things I learned about the Nintendo Switch was it's unusual power requirements. If you use a standard 5V charger, it will recharge the Switch's battery just fine. However, in order to use it in a docked mode, it requires 15V @ 2.6A in order to power the dock and recharge the console. The original power supply that the Nintendo Switch comes with will do this just fine. That being said, if you use the original Type C charger that the Nintendo Switch comes with, this hub will output video to your TV just fine.

It works fine and requires a certain order as others have explained
Quirky when used as a Nintendo Switch dock which is what I am using it for on the go when I travel. It works fine and requires a certain order as others have explained.

Actually works, although not a complete replacement
Overall a very positive experience with the device. Definitely more of a backup or travel adapter than something you want to use everyday and can be temperamental about unplugging and re-plugging in the Switch, but it got the image on the screen and that's what I bought it for.Made a YouTube review on this device under the LOHTEC channel.

Works fine.
It works pretty well if you have the original Nintendo power adapter. The nyko one it's hot garbage.

This didn't work even with the adapter we ordered that was supposed to work with it
This doesn't work unless you have the original nintendo switch power adapter (but even this is just based on what other people are saying on forums) --- and this detail they don't clearly say on their product info page. They advertise "more compatibility" BUT we updated the Switch firmware, tried multiple different power adapters, on different TV's and NONE of them worked. We are not happy and we are returning this product and will not recommend to others.
