OtterBox IPhone SE 3rd & 2nd Gen, IPhone 8 & IPhone 7 (Not Compatible with Plus Sized Models) Commuter Series Case - OCEAN WAY (AQUA SAIL/AQUIFER), Slim & Tough, Pocket-Friendly, with Port Protection

This is a great product . It really protects the iPhone super well. The only minor downside to this product is that the hinged bottom cover for the charging port does not last as long as the entire rest of the case/cover. It wears out fairly quickly after charging daily. I feel that this is a design flaw.

Bought this in May 2019 for my iPhone 8. It is May 2022 now, and, the case has just one crack at the bottom! It lasted 3 years despite taking a ton of beating (dropped several times). The phone has not experienced any scratches or cracks or any kind of damage since this case was mounted over it. The 2-layer case (inner rubber case, with hard plastic outer shell) design is awesome! It gives the phone enough cushion to protect is from any damages related to drops. At the same time, the case is not bulky and fits nicely in the pocket. One thing I wish it had was - some sort of rubber grips! There were times when this case has slipped from my hands because the outer plastic shell can get slippery at times. Otterbox got it right for the iPhone 12 mini case, where they incorporated a couple of rubber grips (I just replaced the iPhone 8 with the 12 mini and bought the Otterbox case for the 12, which is awesome!). Despite the one lacking feature mentioned above, I would still buy this again, given the observed durability. Good product!

I’ve dropped my phone so many times and never once damaged it.

UPDATE: After leaving the review below, I received a very nice customer service reply, prompting me to go to their website and fill out a replacement request. No hassle, no questions asked and at no expense of my own, they sent me a new case rather quickly. On the new case, the opening in the plastic for the charging port fits all of my cables without issue and the case appears to be built sturdily. I went with a 4 star review because I believe that my original case should not have gotten through their quality control, but their customer service and replacement policy are fantastic. This case is garbage. As it came in, the hole in the plastic part for the charging port wasn’t big enough to fit any charging cable (I tried 10+ cords) and I ended up having to file down the plastic on my cords to fit. The very first time I dropped it was from 3 feet onto a flat tile floor. The overlap on the front of the case did nothing to protect the screen and cracked my screen protector (glad I had already applied it). Within a month, the entire plastic section on the bottom of the case (covering the speakers and charging port) broke off completely, leaving sharp edges and little protection from the rubber piece. Additionally, there was a sharp lip on the top of the case where an edge didn’t line up. I’m not sure what has happened to Otterbox, but this case was absolute rubbish. Oh, and it is, as others pointed out, rather slippery to hold.

Great protection! Tricky to install

Well built product, purchased same unit in 2022, lasted four years and it finally broke on a corner. The new unit looks even more well built. Dropped the phone many times, the old case always held up protecting the phone.

This Otter Box phone protector fits my old SE2020 just fine. It brings my phone back to its original size. There is no screen protector but I have the film that does good. The price was right.

This is my third Otterbox, which may not seem like an endorsement. But it's because I drop it so much that I damaged the first two enough to keep replacing them. They phone still looks brand new throughout all of this. I like this one because it doesn't come with a screen protector, the frame protects the phone very well and I can have full touch dexterity.
