Universal Replacement Remote for Apple TV 4K/ Gen 1 2 3 4/ HD A2843 A2737 A2169 A1842 A1625 A1427 A1469 A1378 A1218, No Voice Command Included

I have a 15 month old son, who loves to hide every remote in the house and hide them in places you would never think to look (months later and I still haven’t found my original TV remote or my Apple TV remote) so I purchased this universal remote and I AM IN LOVE! I use Apple TV for all of my television channels and with this remote it not only turns on the Apple TV but it also turns on my television too. The buttons are bouncy and really easy to use and my favorite feature about it is: if I lose the remote, I can open my drawer and grab a spare - pop two AAA batteries - and it works without any programming! We currently have about 10 of these scattered around the house because they work with any of my televisions that have Apple TV on. I say we have 10 of them around the house because eight of them are hidden somewhere that we will find from time to time when we come across my son’s secret hiding spaces. They are totally worth your money so if you are thinking about purchasing one - do it! It is worth every penny!

Was skeptical due to the low price. Works great with my Apple tv. Totally worth it as a replacement remote.

"On paper", one premise of these remotes seems great - pre-program them for 100% of the devices they will support. This leaves the user suffering from what is ultimately a poor design, though.These remotes are pre-coded to operate Apple TV devices. Generally, that's fine. However, they lack a "Home" button which prevents some specific uses from being available... Notably, there is no way to bring up the app list for force-quit applications and there is no way to access the user / device menu in the upper right of the home screen. This means there is no way to switch user profiles, no way to access the Sleep Timer menu, no way to request a power off of the Apple TV itself, etc.The other thing that fails miserably in the real world is that ALL of the different TV brands that are supported are pre-programmed into the power, volume, and mute functions and all fire at every press of the button. this means that there are something like 9 pulses every time you press Volume Up or Volume Down making the process of actually changing the volume VERY slow. Since there is no way to operate the remote so that it sends the correct signal for ONLY the specific TV you are working with, you are stuck with this slow response behavior.Also, there is no option to choose whether the power button controls the ATV or the TV, so you are stuck either pressing both for quickest response or waiting for the TV to recognize that a connected device has been powered on as it does not send a wakeup signal over HDMI when you press the Menu button.Cheap, but you get (the frustration) what you pay for. Sent them back.

I saw a lot of mixed reviews on this one, which made me a bit weary as it was one of the cheapest replacement options. I have to say it definitely does work just like a regular Apple TV remote. I didn’t need to pair it or anything worked right out the box. My only grievance would be that unlike the original Apple TV remote, it doesn’t work if your Apple TV box is blocked by something, even a plastic bag. Other than that it’s a great affordable replacement if you don’t want to spend $50 on a new remote.

Literally, I only had to put the batteries in and it is controlling both TV and Apple TV. Incredibly well so far so good I’ll change my rating if anything different starts happening.I simply put in a pair of batteries and it started working on both my Apple TV and my Samsung TV. Once my hand got used to where the new buttons were located it’s also easy to use without having to look at it just like the regular Apple TV remotes the material can be a little slick and slide around and get caught in couch cushions really easy so I put a rubber band or two around it so it has a little grips on it doesn’t slide away. As long as I take good care of and hold up, I think this will be an excellent product.

This remote is definitely not as good as the more expensive one for Apple TV. It is made of plastic and once I opened the back to put in the batteries it would not close all the way. The indicator light has not come on yet to let me know its working. I have to control the volume on my other remote that came with the TV. Also the fast forward and rewind is a pain to use as it FF's and rewinds slowly and doesn't show the picture of where you are, so you'll have to guess. Also does not turn my TV on or off - have to use TV remote for that. What it does do is give you an interim remote that is cheap until you can afford a better one. It will navigate the TV apps and let you navigate within the apps fine. It is limited but functional for use with your original TV remote to navigate streaming on your TV. If you can opt for the more expensive remote. Otherwise this is a fair one to have around in case your better one breaks.

Opened package, inserted batteries, worked like a charm on my Sony TV with Apple TV. Alternative options 5 times the price.

I should have lost my Apple Remote earlier!!! This one is better than the original! I was almost upset it didn't come with instructions... but then I thought maybe it's so simple there doesn't need to be any... I laughed to myself, reallt feeing like maybe I just bought a piece of junk... but I aimed it at my tv and hit the power button. I almost fell out of my chair when it turned on. So simple and so much nicer feeling in your hand than the Apple remote was.I truly hated the mouse pad like feature of the Apple Remote, it was so overly sensitive. This one is so much better!!! Perfect!!!
