My 3 year olds current favorite book
I bought this book over a year ago, when my daughter was 2. Initially, she had no interest in it. I think the dialogue was hard to follow, with the narrator and Jack talking to each other, making it different from most stories she had heard at that point. Anyways, fast forward a year later, she's now bigger and appreciating humor more, and she rediscovered this book among her bookshelves. It's become her new favorite, she thinks it's hilarious. The illustrations are great - adorable, eye catching, colorful, and fun. The humor reminds me of "The Stinky Cheese Man" - that sort of off beat not-your-everyday fairy tale humor. I'm asked to read this book at least twice a day, so I'd say it's definitely a hit.

Cool book
Definitely not like the original story but I didn't expect that it was. My daughter wasn't the biggest fan of it but I personally thought it was funny and liked that it was different.

Huge hit!
My daughter LOVES all of these books. She just finished kindergarten and is deep into the fairy tales so she loves any variation of them.

Awesome twist on a classic that's super fun for adults to read out loud. Worth every penny.
This book is so good. The illustrations are so fun and my 4yo son loves when I read it to him. It's actually really fun to read out loud because you can use all these different silly voices. Little dude loves it. We actually got to hear Josh fun read it to us are a Barnes and Noble in NJ one time and right then we knew we were getting these books. I try to mimic the way he read it but I'm not as good but either way my son loves it. It's a super fun twist on the traditional Jack and the beanstalk story that makes it so much better than the original. Love these guys work and look forward to more from them.

A fractured fairytale phenomenon...
Poor narrator... He tries so hard to tell the traditional Jack and the Beanstalk story, but Jack just won't cooperate, and he complains the whole way, first about selling his cow, then about climbing the beanstalk, and finally refusing to rob the giant. And then to top it all off, he gives away the ending of the story. In frustration, the narrator tries to end the story, but naturally Jack doesn't let him have his way. Funk and Taylor have created a thoroughly amusing fractured telling of Jack and the Beanstalk. This is another fun retelling for me to add to my daughter’s collection. It's fun to compare original fairy tales with fractured ones. And when the detailed, colourful digital illustrations have the added fun of favourite fairy tale friends sprinkled throughout and complement the humor as well as these do, well that is simply icing on the cake. This fun fractured fairy tale shows what happens when the main character of your story is uncooperative and takes over! A brilliantly fun 5⭐️ read.

Super cute
We wish there were more "It's Not" stories! Really fun for little readers to get into character and read the parts. We'll be looking forward to the next book.
