Many thanks for reviewer Jojanna for her brilliant suggestion to use Avery 5418 labels to attach to these tags. No one else mentioned the brand and product number. This is a huge breakthrough for solving my cable ID problems when i'm on a remote video shoot or using my audio gear for voluntary use of my PA gear for events. Our mantra in film school was either tag it or lose it. So, for years i've been using laminated business card luggage tags with various sized inserts, then cutting down as appropriate, but many times they were too large and cumbersome for cables. These solved the problem.I've shared images of how i've used these with the 5418 labels, preprinted with my company name, but i also intend to use the unprinted labels to write on because the thin Sharpie doesn't show up very well when written directly on the plastic. Whether you're using a preprinted approach or a customized approach, i'd recommend you use the labels, either printed or plain. The label makes a much better writing surface, especially when using a fine point Sharpie. A ball point pen would not work directly on the plastic, but might be workable if you're writing on a blank label.I also realized that the Avery labels don't stick on the tag very well, so i used Elmer glue stick to augment the adhesive on the labels. This size label is not available in a permanent adhesive. It's removable, which is probably why is comes off easily. (Duh). This glue is perfect because the glue allows me to position the label perfectly on the tag by sliding it around a bit before the glue sets. Once it "dries," the label doesn't come off, which is what i want.Now, to print the label, i used Word and found the label template easily. You can Google it and get the exact steps to print the labels. Also, you'll notice that i printed these without using the adjustment provisions on Word, so the printing is slightly skewed, as the opening parentheses is printing off the left margin.I have a lot of these tags to prepare because i have a lot of cables. I expect that it will be a chore fairly quickly because it's tedious work, but i'm comforted by knowing this solution will definitely ease my concerns about losing my gear to misbehaving or negligent crew who might find it otherwise easy to appropriate my gear under an "accidental" or plausible deniability justification.

I bought these to tag cables in my attic, these work great and after months of them being on I can still easily read the tag where it goes to. Would buy again if needed.

I use these markers to label wires and cables around my ham shack and my theater, but they make excellent markers for most everything. I like them so much I am reordering them right away.One negatives is the tag sticks out a good ways. This could be a problem in some applications. The other problem is that the tags don't mark well with a sharpie. Still that's what I use and it works.The tags are not re-usable. They are pretty much the same as a cable tie and I cut and replace cable ties often as I move things around.In the past I have been using masking tape folded to make a tab. Tape leaves a residue and is often hard to remove. Tape is not very professional looking. These work so much better. It also is not very professional looking.I recommend these to anyone who has a mass of cables or hoses and has room for the tabs that stick out.

Very useful. Probably too small to use a sharpie, but with a smaller permanent marker it is ok.

PERFECT FOR USING AS LABELS FOR THUMB-DRIVES.

It's great to organize loose wires and identify each wire in the tag. Material is good. Zip tie is easy to work around and you can trim the tag to fit the space you are working on.

I't small but perfect for my needs. I'm not writing the preamble to the constitution on it .. just a word or abbreviation. Some reviewers say you can't write on it, or it rubs off. I used an official Sharpie. It dried in less than one minute and after that I couldn't rub it off. It's a bit translucent so writing on both sides might be problematic but not a problem for me.

These are not just small. They are extremely tiny. Cannot write anything on them because the tab is so small. They are literally worthless even for the smallest product since I had to open it to try to see if I could do anything with it. I can’t return it so there’s a waste of $20. I’ll never see you again.
