Stays cold or hot
Being of a certain age I tend to get some knee pain from time to time. Trying to find an ice pack that I can put on my knees and not have to hold steady with my hand or that doesn't confine me to the couch or chair while I'm using it has been a constant struggle. This cold compress works well and allows me freedom of movement while it's doing its thing for my swollen knees.I just put this compress in the freezer for when I need it and when I take it out it's nice and cold. There is no dampness to the compress during use and it doesn't get my knee or clothing wet while it warms up.If I need some heat I just remove the straps and place it in my microwave. The one thing I did notice when heating it in the microwave is that the outside edges of the compress get hot faster then the rest of it, so when removing it from the microwave you need to be careful how you handle it or you could end up burning your fingers. The recommendation on the compress is to heat for 30 seconds and then in 10 second increments until you get the correct temperature for your endurance. This is good advice, as it took a few tries for me to get the compress to the right heat level for my comfort.I found this compress stays in place better on my knees then my elbows, but if I don't move around to much it will stay on my elbow. Could not get it to fit with the straps on my shoulder but just placing it on my shoulder and lying down I was able to get it to work. It's a great compress for those sore joints.
