Herman's Amazing Vegan Semi-Permanent Direct Hair Color Dye (4oz) Marge Blue

I love the colors I purchased from this line, I used 4 colors, Fiona Fire, Tammy Turquoise, Thelma Turquoise, and Bloody Mary, in addition to a Manic Panic red I had lying around, to create the look I was going for. As with all direct dyes, the results will vary depending on the porosity of your hair, whether you lighten or if you have already light enough hair for these colors to be visible, and application time. So I have a few tips to offer that may help.Side Note: (I'm not a professional, I've been using direct dyes for about 15 years, done endless research, and I've experimented endlessly, the formulas vary but not every brand has success with every color they produce so shop around for the best colors from different trusted brands rather than staying confined to one brand.)Additional Side Note: (I used Thelma Turquoise and Bloody Mary (the lighter colors of the 4 I purchased) to lighten Tammy Turquoise and Fiona Fire at my ends. I did swatches on a white paper towel, which I recommend when mixing or testing a new color as this will give you a truer idea of the color than in the pot.)I have learned with my hair, that for the best results, prior to applying the dye I need to wash my hair using shampoo only, allow it to air dry, and after applying the dye I leave it on well beyond the suggested time, most direct dyes are not harmful to keep in your hair for longer than the recommended time, think of it as a deep conditioner. If you do bleach your hair or use a direct dye remover such as the Joico Color Intensity Eraser, rinse well, and wait at least 24 hours before applying the direct dye colors for the best results otherwise you may get a muddied or spotty result. (I feel like I should also say this step should be done by a professional to ensure you don't ruin your hair but bleach at your own discretion and risk.)No matter what brand I've used, I almost never experience daily bleeding or rub-off the way I did when I first started out using direct dyes (I will say, the one exception has been Chromasilk but I let a professional friend use this brand on me when she was first learning to use direct dyes so it may have been a fluke), and my color always lasts longer when I do it myself than any time I've let a professional do it.My last few tips can help your color last longer and prevent any bleeding that you may experience because of the porosity or condition of your hair: wash cold, limit heat, and dry shampoo (my favorite is Nexxus Volume Refreshing Mist Dry Shampoo with Pearl Extract) is your friend (Washing too often can cause your hair to become more oily, more quickly anyway so why not break the habit!).

I have used TONS of different brands of hair color, (semi, demi, and permanent) this color is absolutely amazing. I didn't even really lighten my hair that much and it took... then I used it all over and it laid right on top of my black color...amazing stuff and it smells good!!!

This is a GREAT product. It is thick and leaves a beautiful, bright color behind that lasts for months.

This works best if your in the shower wash your hair normally first and use it as a conditioner

Did not give an intense color result.

I’m really actually bummed out, as is my son. I love left the dye in 45 mins and the it was so vibrant while dying , but now it’s only a fuchsia light blondish color . My son is bummed out. He wanted hot pink .
