**Update 2 ** It really works on Dex and Switch! The replacement they sent me really works! Please disregard my original review. The seller didn't lie and they stood by their product 100%. I actually owe them an apology for anything negative that may have came from my original review. I'm sorry guys, thank you for sending me a replacement.** Update** Due to my negative review the seller contacted me and said it should work with the Switch and that about 1% are defective. They said they'd send me another one. Will update once received.The description from the seller and the responses from the seller are lies. This does not work on the switch. The one reviewer, melike, said it worked. They also lied. Their review history shows 3 reviews all done on the same day and all 5 stars. They are most likely a fake account for the seller. This device did work on my Note 8 for Dex, so that's a plus, but I bought this to work on both the Note 8 and the Switch. If you just want it as a Dex replacement, you'll be fine, but DO NOT BUY THIS expecting it to work on the Nintendo Switch. It totally and completely will not work. It will charge it, and will be recognized as a dock, but it will not show an image. I tried multiple chargers including the oem Nintendo charger, multiple TV's, and multiple HDMI cables.

Works as advertised, great value!
Works as advertised. I did have to connect it, disconnect it, and then reconnect it for the DeX feature to appear with my Galaxy Note 8, but once that was set it worked perfectly. I have a Logitech universal USB dongle attached and my K750 keyboard and M705 mouse work perfectly. Also tried a Lenovo Yoga Mouse and Aukkey BT keyboard connecting to the phone and those worked as well. Great value for this item.

I purchased one of these from another vendor. It was Terrible because although they said it charges your phone while your using it, IT Did Not Charge My Note 8! So I saw this and took a chance. This unit Does Charge your phone while using it, and that is essential when using one of these. I love the operation, the price and ease of use. 5 Stars from me!!!

Works for DEX!
This works with my Galaxy Note 8 as a DEX station at a third the price! You have to make sure to have a Quick Charge 2.0 rated charger connected by USB-C or the unit will only activate screen mirroring not Dex. At first I thought this was defective and then I plugged in my Samsung charger and Presto Dex fired right up! Also Dex, once activated, would not recognize my USB keyboard unless I plugged it in AFTER activating DEX. Hope that helps anybody who happens to look at this review, took me about an hour to figure out. Overall great product, does what it advertises, a great cheap Dex station!

Really quick shipping, it arrived the week before expected. I got the silver option which is in an aluminum type casing that feels quite premium. I bought this primarily for use with my Samsung Galaxy S8 to enable the Dex mode on my phone, and sure enough it worked. I connected the adapter to a USB hub, power, and HDMI which all let me access Dex with ease and comfortability. The only issue that I have experienced with this adapter is that my monitor goes black once in a while, and it can become annoying sometimes. Most of the time, however, my experience is seamless.The best part with this is that it is really portable and it allows me to connect headphones which is great.-For any of you wondering, my S8 is running the latest OS.

Try it ASAP so you can return it immediately if the screen goes OFF and ON. Its so annoying.
I am sure this item would be good if it works. I connect my phone to the device. The device has a USB-C power supply plugged into one of the ports. The other port has a dongle for a wireless mouse and keyboard. The HDMI port connects to my monitor.My problem is that the screen just goes ON and OFF at random times. Its getting annoying as I use Samsung Dex as my almost main computer now. Say, I'm in the middle of photo editing, and all of a sudden, the screen would turn off. After a minute, it would come back on. I have no idea why.

Did not activate DEX mode, just mirrored.
Purchased this product after seeing it would enable DEX Mode for my Galaxy S8 running Oreo and it did not work as intended. The best I could do was get it to mirror the screen. I tried plugging things in different orders (HDMI, Power, Input Device), and I could not get it to work. I know since the Oreo release that DEX mode has been crippled a bit, so I guess I'm not surprised. I'll more than likely send it back unless I am missing something.

USB port was/went bad
Bought this a while back and used for dex on a couple of phones/tablets. Worked with the S7 and S8 Active Variants and the S10+. It does work with my Galaxy Tab S5e however it often causes the tablet to show a moisture detected warning. Have to reboot the tablet to clear the issue.Another issue and I don't know if this happened recently or if it has always been like that but I can no longer use usb 3.0 devices on the adapter. Either on the PC, Android or Switch none will detect 3.0 devices except for usb 3.0 hubs but even putting a hub inbetween it the device doesn't see any usb 3.0 beyond that. I believe this is because the hub also has usb 2.0 built in which I can still use with the adapter. 2.0 work just not 3.0

Would be great if it worked.
Very portable and light. However, didn't work with my HDMI cable.
