Q: Does this work in an old classic 1950's car?

The second answer is correct. Hold back 21 ounces of oil to compensate for adding 21 ounces of Lubeguard. The TOTAL fill will equal 7 quarts. I put 5 quarts of oil in, add the 21 ounces of Lubeguard, then add another 1 quart and 11 more ounces of oil. My truck always comes out right at the full level on the dipstick every time. It's bad to overfill your engine by 21 oz. , I've seen the problems caused by someone doing that.

it comes up as a different part number but I'd be surprised if it's different, the heavy duty is cheaper, works well to save adding a quart between oil changes.

yes, add 3 oz per qt of engine oil, at every oil change. for 5 qts you would put in 15 oz but subtract that amount from the 5 qts so you do not over fill.
