Durable construction. Safe choice.
We were impressed right out of the box. It is pretty much what my Chinese and Thai family members use but adapted to modern kitchens because it has a flat bottom. The seller indicates that this will work on induction surfaces but we only were able to test it on our gas stove.Heat distribution was excellent. The wooden handle encases the metal core. As a result the wok stays comfortable to touch. The package includes a good spatula as commonly used in Asian cookery. There's also a wooden lid. The weight of the wok is substantial enough to support home cooking but without the heft of a traditional wok. (This is not a coy way of saying that this wok is lightweight or thin; this is the real deal but somewhat tailored to the modern kitchen.)This is a safe choice if you're looking to adopt Asian cooking or even to sautee vegetables to accompany a meat loaf.It is cast iron. It's preseasoned as promised. Keep it out of your dishwasher and make sure to wipe it dry after use.The pricing is not exceptional so I would not call this a steal. But it is reasonably priced. And if you follow simple post-cooking wipe dry, this could become a family heirloom.

Burnt up really bad
Now I've had other woks before and I was excited for this one.The first couple of time it heated up nicely and was great BUT this definitely doesn't hold up for every day use.I recommend a higher quality but if your going to use it maybe once or twice a year then this works fine.

One meal and it was done!
I used it once. Their instruction sheet said not to scratch the surface so I used a wooden spoon.I cooked Chicken Brockley with soy and oyster sauce and left the food in the wok until it cooled.After emptying the food, the surface had rusted. I wiped the rust with a paper towel, and found more changes to the color as well as actual rust spot. Their instruction that warns against using "metal scrubber" to avoid "remove the oxidation layer"To remove rust, one of the step recommend "Use steel wool if necessary". I will buy something more expensive where I don't have to repair it every time I use it.I will return this.

Great quality for value
Wow this pot is much more than I expected. It comes with a decent spatula, wok, handle, top and instructions. Let me start with the cover. The cover fits nicely on the wok and has a slim wooden extension in the middle of the top for lifting. Use with a cloth to open, or your hands depending on the heat level. The wood smells amazing. It is my first wooden top. The pot itself is spacious and large, but not so large you can’t take it camping or outdoors use. I bought it for that purpose to use over open fire and gas portable stove. It comes pre-seasoned, i could tell just from looking at it/touching it. Follow the instructions (which are clear and easy to understand) before 1st use and after to make this pot last long and maintain its nonstick ability. Don’t air dry or leave wet. I’d recommend this for you.

The steel Wok works as it should; I only wish it was deeper to hold more food.
