No stud! Every time you use screw wearing threads.
Wanted to bring peoples attention to the fact that no one mentioned! I realized that to rotate entire tool post you HAVE TO LOOSEN entire stud (which in this model is a 10 or 8mm cap screw). Mean every time you are wearing down the threads in your cust iron table because entire stud is turning! IN All other true OXA,AXA,BXA... designs you loosening only NUT on top of tool post (only if needed to rotate entire post). So stud is tight forever in your lathe.I returned this cheap tool post without even taking out of box when I realized this design oops. Also 2 pistons in main block that are actually securing exchangeable holders are so small in diameter and so loose that rising durability question right away. For one project in a few months it probably Ok. But I don't want to wear stud threads on lath or modify stud making another thread on top and use nut / handle so stud will never turn.I spent $50 more for real OXA design and I am happy. Thanks.

STEEL Jinwen Quick Change Tool Post & Holders - 5 stars
Don't confuse this STEEL set with the ALUMINUM set--I have both. There's a huge price difference between the 2 sets due to the construction, altho both are good. The aluminum set is about $35 and is good for light work. The steel set is about $135 and is good for heavier work. This STEEL set is about $20-$50 less expensive than some other STEEL sets I've seen advertised. This set gets 5 stars because the post and holders hold the tools almost perfectly while I'm turning/boring/threading. The only problem I've ever had so far was operator error on my part. I took too big of a bite one time, and it put too much strain on the post and tool, and the tool started to chatter and caused my post and tool to shift slightly. I backed off my tool and re-aligned my setup. Everything was fine after that re-alignment. I have a HF 7x10 mini lathe, and this set mounted up perfectly using the 8mm allen head cap screw. If you are willing to spend the money, this is a pretty good set. I'm sure there are better sets out there, but for a lower-end and lower-priced set, I believe I got my money's worth. I will report back and modify my rating if I change my mind.

No replacement holders available.
This is a good tool holder, but if I could do it again I would have spent a bit more for one that I could buy more holders for. It fits perfectly on my 7x12 HF mini lathe and so far I've used it while cutting aluminum, 6al4v titanium, and 403 stainless and it's had zero issues. My solution for the lack of holders was to buy the cheaper aluminum tool holder set from the same maker and use the holders included with that for tools where rigidity isn't as critical, then use the included steel holders for higher stress cuts.

Though one of the holders required a bit of cleaning up to fit properly this is a strong product and works great on my Mini Lathe
This really deserves a 5 and would get that from me if I could find a source for additional tool holders. Though one of the holders required a bit of cleaning up to fit properly this is a strong product and works great on my Mini Lathe. Down side...like I said, I can't seem to find a source for additional tool holders. These holders are not a standard (000 or oxa) dove-tail thus a standard holder does not fit. So if you can live with just the 4 holders provided this is a low cost solution. If like me you need to add holders avoid this product and find one that uses standard holders.

Quick change handle in the way
This fit my 7x10 mini lathe, but the quick change handle pointed away from me and towards the workpiece, so I felt it would be in the way most of the time. The way the cam is ground onto the shaft means you cannot set it up with the handle pointing away from the work and out of the way. Also, the tool holders would not slide onto the post without getting something to push in the small rods each time. The quick change handle only lets you change out the tool holders, but not the tool angle. It just didn't seem any quicker or easier than the standard tool holder. I returned it.
