Throne fit for a cat
I genuinely rave about this product whenever I'm asked. I have 4 cats and changing litter trays was a nightmare before, both in terms of smell and mess. Both of these have all but disappeared, as this handy thing will spin slowly and sift out the cat waste, depositing it in a handy removable bin. I didn't purchase any additional anti-odour blocks for the bin area, but if you are particularly keen-nosed, you could do so for added peace of mind if you felt it necessary. The whole unit does disassemble for a deep clean, and it drastically cuts down on waste litter. Even given the fact that I've paid more for a toilet for my cats than for myself, I can honestly say best gadget purchase for the cats, and over time it's paying for itself in how much less waste there is whenever they do go to the toilet

Extremely difficult to clean, sensor always wrong for weight and needs constant emptying
Before I go any further I just wanted to say I really wanted to like this product. I had looked at Litter Robots but didn't like the sound of the Version 3 and the Version 4 wasn't available in the UK yet so I read all the reviews for the Petkit Max Ultra and decided to purchase it instead. When it came it looked the part and it does work most of the time insofar as it filters out the clumps and puts them in the bin underneath (except with small poos, more of which later). However, it has serious drawbacks and I thought I'd better write my review because there are lots of other glowing reviews which don't reflect my experience at all. I honestly can't understand how so many people think it is easy to clean, it is actually a total nightmare to try and keep clean. It's impossible to get all the litter out easily, you have to pour it out the side or front and the raised lips around both entrances block all the litter from getting out so you're always left with some inside. In addition to this, it's supposed to have a anti-stick coating but no matter how long you set the timer for cleaning after your cats have have been to the toilet the poo smears on the internal plastic and litter sticks to it, which means it is never clean and always looks dirty. My cats have totally normal digestive systems with no diarrhoea (unless they are unwell) so it's not like they are producing abnormally sticky faeces. In addition to this the red filter inside is difficult to get off so you have to put your whole arm in a poo smeared environment and wrestle with it whilst trying to keep yourself clean. We have a kitten that is seven months and his poos are quite small so they came back through the grid at the back that is supposed to filter out the clumps ready to go in the waste bin so, for him, it was a total waste of time as it didn't clean up after him at all. The sensor is good from a safety point of view as it detects that your cats are near or inside very effectively which made me feel confident that they were safe. The problem is that half the time it decides there is a cat in the vicinity when there isn't so it stops mid clean or refuses' to start to clean and you have to wait for it to decide it's ready again even if you do the 'long press' that's supposed to set it off again. It also never measures the weight of your cats the same from one visit to the next. Mine was on a hard floor and constantly told me an unrecognised cat had been to the toilet in it. This is no good when you are trying to monitor your cat's weight. The other really annoying thing was that it needed constant emptying. I have two adult cats and a kitten and I couldn't leave it for more than two days without it being emptied. Quite often it would say it was full after one day and I'd have to shake the bin about (not a pleasant job) to get another day's worth of use out of it. There's no way I could have left the cats for a couple of days away with just this litter tray. So, all in all, it had possibilities but a lot of downsides and I felt it was in no way worth the money spent on it so I returned it as not fit for purpose. A real shame as I wanted to like it but I just didn't feel it was hygienic enough or that it did what it was advertised to do.

The best gadget we didn't know we needed!
Don't be put off by the price, it's worth it! We used to use wood pellet litter (this DOES NOT work..), but changed to clumping wood granules from Amazon, and it's superb. Two Cats, average use 8 times per day, and we empty the bin about every four days. No mess, virtually no smell, and both Cats took to it immediately, in fact they're fascinated by the self cleaning action. I think they use it more than the old one. Oh, and the weight tracking feature is invaluable, no more struggling to get them to stand still on scales. BTW, the on board WIFI is flawless, unlike some of our Smart Lamps ;-)

Nightmare to clean
1. It’s practically impossible get the litter out if you decide to clean it! It’s an absolute nightmare! 2. Cat litter sticks to the plastic walls inside so it always looks dirty unless you clean it every time your cat uses it. 3. The notification “waste bin is full” randomly comes up when it’s not full and disappears after few hours.

It works
Best litter tray I have ever bought. I have 3 cats and was forever cleaning out litter trays. This does it all, rotates to filter the poos, deodorises, levels the litter. I get notifications on my phone when the cat has been, when it cleans etc. Best of all I get a notification when it needs emptied...every 5 days usually. Quite expensive but worth every penny.

Nightmare to clean
This product is a nightmare. I have 2 adult cats and use Everclean cat litter. Litter sticks everywhere making it practically impossible to clean and dump all litter. Needs tipping on its side to remove all litter (see picture taken after 3 days of use!). I find it hard to believe this product can be left for 3 weeks with 1 cat without cleaning. It's very expensive and does not justify the price being charged. On a plus side, the odor removal is fantastic, no smells at all!

Fantastic, I love it
This is so brilliant it is worth every penny , It could have done with a small leaflet to say EXACTLY how to get started but once I had worked put how to connect to WiFi via the app it was easy, I have 3 cats and once they had got used to it it was great you still need to do some cleaning and maintenance but no more scooping of cat litter everyday 😀
