Q: The features and details state 80% cotton however the details state 55%. Which is correct?

I would say 55% from the feel of them my feet get a bit sweaty in these.

I am a size 9 and I have to stretch them quite a bit to get them to fit well (the bit on the heel only just reaches the heel) and they are also rather thin, so I would imagine that on a size 11 foot they would have to be stretched a lot more and I would say that these wouldn't be suitable.Hope that helps.

Q: Would these be ok for a 12 year old?

They would be fine if the 12 year olds shoe size was within the shoe size of the socks, but if only a size 6 they may be loose on their feet.
