Excellent Waffle Maker
I've read through a few of the more recent reviews and feel compelled to add my tuppence. Some of the reviews have parts I agree with and some I don't.Firstly, the maker itself. It is basically two hotplates on a hinged lid and that is exactly what it does. One reviewer made mention of the over-fill gullies not being big enough and I have to agree with that. However, as with any enclosed space, if you put too much liquid in it has to spill out somewehre.Tip: experiment with cups or ladles and work out how much batter you need to fill it, or underfill it and be happy with a couple of square and a couple of curved waffles. They all taste the same.Next is the batter. Some reviewers complaining about badly cooked waffles or sticking waffles.....if I were them I would change my recipe.I searched YouTube for a review of this waffle maker before buying and came across a video with a link to their website and waffle recipe. I use this particular recipe every single time. No fail. No stick. And lovely waffles.Google 'Waffle Makers Hub' for the most amazing recipe. Amazon won't let me include the URL of the site.I have experimented by doubling the mixture except for the oil and sugar. The sugar I keep at 3 tablespoons and the oil I increase by a small amount. Then I make a massive batch and wrap them in foil once they're cool and my children have them for breakfast during the week. These waffles take 4 minutes to cook. I totally promise you. I put the batter in the middle of the plate until I guess I have the right amount to splurge to all four corners - normally I am wrong and end up with waffles with two straight and one curved edge. It really doesn't matter.I check the time on the oven clock and wait four minutes, use a silicone spatula to prise the waffles out and get ready for the next batch.Never had any stick. And once cool just wipe out the waffle maker with kitchen towel. This is our new family Sunday morning routine.Buy it. Use the recipe. And you'll hate me forever because you just can't stop making waffles. Oh, and I don't use the vanilla extract in my recipe because one of my children doesn't like vanilla. Weird child!

Cheap and cheerful
It is surely not the best waffle maker on the market. It doesn’t make evenly baked waffles, sometimes I turn them to look better but the issue is only aesthetic. It feels a bit flimsy too but I’m not planning to take it on backpacking tour in the Gobi desert. Has zero fancy features. You plug it in and it starts heating with exactly one setting. Cleaning it could be a faff as all parts are fixed together but the non stick coating is actually non stick so not much cleaning is needed anyway.I gave it five star because it does the job. Have a good recipe, put a bit of grease on the plates and you’ll end up with good waffles. For a very small price. Completely satisfied.Of as it stands up, it is easy to store too.

Best value compared to others I have previously purchased.
Likes.Looks good and pretty durable.Easy to clean very little residue.Best I've ever had.Easy to use to a point. See advice.DislikesYou will need to flip waffles whilst cooking to achieve close to both sides being even and in my experience best results.Takes longer than stated. 8 mins minimum to get my desired result.AdviceEnsure preheated before filling.Do not overfill. Depending on your recipe, some practise required. As some recipes expand the mixture more than others.Have some cocktail sticks and allow waffle maker to cool down and waffle residue to go crisps. Tgis makes it easy to get any overspill out of the sills if you inadvertingly overfill.Pouring from a jug is recommended and don't cover the squares as this will generally lead to spillage and nice waffles.By using jug can fill quicker and get top/lid heating element to close quicker for a more even cook. It starts cooking as soon as you fill.... Hence best to flip about 3/4 of the way through your cook.Do place on a wooden bread board or base as it does get very warm to hot underneath and may cause damage to some work surfaces I imagine.Cheaper here on amazon vs manufacturers website at time of writing this.I would say these waffles are pretty good and depends on personal taste on the results ie I don't use oil some people do for crispness. Some recipes will produce flatter waffles than others.I have found it best to make the mixture and leave to stand for 20 mins or so. Mix again and then pour.Kids are happy and overall pretty good.TipsI use buttermilk and almond milk as a preference.Seperate the egg yolks and white. Once main mix down. Whop the egg whites lightly till peaking and blend into mix. Makes them nice and fluffy.Anything alse ill come back. 2 months and going well.

Great waffles, great value
This is one of the best value products I've ever bought, having paid £18 around a year ago and used it on average every 3 weeks. First impression was that the finish was a little cheap, just very slightly rough edges to some of the plastic, but really nothing major, and certainly nothing to complain about at the price. I found a waffle batter recipe on the internet, mixed it up, sprayed the waffle plates with olive oil, ladled the mixture in and waited 6 minutes. Perfect waffles first time! The quantity of batter to use for each waffle takes a little practice to get right, but after a few sessions you'll figure it out by trial and error. Cleaning is fairly easy, just wipe the plates over with a damp sponge (they're not removable) and dry with a paper towel. The outside usually needs scraping with a plastic spatula to remove hardened spillage before wiping with a damp sponge. They're a little more expensive now, but still great value in my opinion. Anyway, that's enough waffling from me..

Great waffle maker
Efficient, easy to clean, easy to use overall. Heats evenly. Makes four average sized waffles at a time. The lid feels a little wobbly but I’ve used it several times now and there have been no problems.

Well worth the money, better than bought waffles, so quick to make
Bought this for the grandkids, to live on their kitchen worktop. They love it, use it most mornings. To start with we made up a homemade waffle mix (recipe found online) kept that in the fridge in two jars. In the mornings just poured it onto the waffle maker and it was waffle a go go. As we progressed through various waffle recipes we settled on one that had hardly any sugar in it and then onto one that didnt have any sugar at all. Since a lot of the time the kids were using chocolate spread and peanut butter, the sugar is not necessary. We even progressed onto buying a good sized jug and keeping it in that in the fridge. We made it in the liquidiser but you dont need to do that, just a bowl and a fork will do it, just like making yorkshire pud mix really, just add a bit of olive oil to the mix. Lots of recipes online for free, you will have to experimentYou can keep it scrumptiously naughty, with syrup, choc spread, ice cream or low key yoghurt and berries, bananas etc. Try adding cheese to some of the mix or mashed potato. Add beans and any veg or meats of your choice to the end result. We even put the cooked waffle into the toaster (or under the grill) for an extra crispinessIf you keep your mix ready it is really quick to use for breakfast. it is a brilliant gadget

Fire hazard - mediocre performance
All was well (see rest of review) until I came to wipe it down. There is a 2mm gap down the right side between the lower plate and the solid casing. Batter had spilled down the hole and is unretrievable (and presumably at risk of catching fire near the element). About to initiate return.Otherwise, it works but it's not the most even cook - esp top is cooler than base and doesn't brown evenly. Waffles are floppy rather than crispy. We have a single Dash one and that is much better but a pain to do lots.I found closing it and letting it do a cycle of green light off-on-off (green light is supposed to go off when to temp but it seems a bit random) helped. I used a 1cal spray and had no prob with sticking. Fill the holes to the brim so you can't see the posts. It will overflow slightly but when I used less the waffles were flat and hole-y.I used the recipe that came with the other one as none supplied: 2 cups flour, 2 eggs, 2tbsps sugar, 4tsp baking powder, 1/2tsp salt, 2 cups milk, 4tbsp melted butter. Whisk in lg jug to pour.In summary, I can make waffles in this, but they're not the best so I wouldn't recommend it. It feels poorly built even without the fault.Everyone who has a cheap one they recommend bought it in a certain middle aisle.
