MasterClass Large Baking Tray

This is one of the first reviews I have ever written for a product and if I could give this baking tray 6 stars I would! Great weight, heavy duty and not cheap or flimsy. Solidly manufactured. The tray transfers the heat evenly and does not buckle, even when searing hot. If you are a serious home cook then this is the best you can buy. I am a nationally award winning chef with over 30 years experience and I've owned a couple of restaurants. Please trust me, this is the best tray for home use that I have ever bought and if they make them larger for the catering industry, then i'll buy them too. I still can't believe the price! I bought 2 other products from the same manufacturer, a loaf tin and two fluted flan rings and I have given them all the same 5 stars. They are also very cheap. Respect MasterClass!

Heavy duty, great non-stick, larger than most baking trays. Quality seems as good as the very much more expensive Aga ones I have used. I note the comments from other reviews about water getting under the lip when dishwashed but I can see no reason why I would ever put it in the dishwasher; it just rinses, wipes clean. Waste of dishwasher space! Having now had this for some months and having used it extensively, I thought I wouod comment on the two negatives others have raised. Dishwasher problem - still cannot see why anyone would put such a large, wipe-clean item in a dishwasher. I forgot it was in my Aga cooker with burnt on shepherds pie and left it overnight. Looked definitely burnt on! Wiped off with a dishcloth! Thin non-stick on the base. Yes, mine is getting a bit thinner in places underneath. But I have thought long and hard and can't think of any reason why I would use it upside down and it is still excellent where it matters, on the top side. So still five stars! Edited to add: still going strong over a year later.

Now buying my second pair of these. I do like them -very solid, feel well made, but in common with other reviewers, I have had rusty water dripping out of the rolled edges after removing from the dishwasher. The last pair have lasted about 5 years, with heavy use, so have done well, but most of the non-stick coating is flaking off now. They are supposed to be dishwasher proof but I am going to wash these by hand from now on and store them on their sides so nothing can damage them -I did have them under other trays so i may be to blame. The other trays are also Master Class, of different sizes, bought at the same time, but lasting much better, with intact non-stick coating in spite of dishwashing. If these don;t last, inspite of my improved handlng, I will invoke the guarantee -20 years on the tray and 5 years on the non-stick coating. I suspect I wont have to. The old trays have come in very handy as they are exacly the right size to hold a couple of seed trays with this years tomatoes and peppers germinating in them!

This is an excellent sturdy and durable tray and on receipt, I was very impressed. However, I later bought the wire rack to go in it and that's when I found out all was not as it seemed. The rack naturally has folded wire feet under it and in only a few weeks the nicely curved feet had shown the tray's coating to be fragile. The coating wore away almost immediately leaving bare metal spots under each of the feet, which looks unsightly and spoils my impression of an otherwise great product. I would not buy this tray again. I would look for an uncoated stainless steel tray.

Bought to replace a couple of trays we'd left at a venue after a 'do'. Following the rule of Delia, we wanted thick and sturdy trays that wouldn't warp or flex in the oven. These are just the job. Heavier than any we had previously, you can't even flex them by twisting them. Heavy, and quality feel to them. Easy cleaning by hand (we don't have a dishwasher apart from me) Can't comment on the longevity of the coating yet as we only just got them, but the weight and feel of them inspires confidence out if the box. We're really pleased and recommend them heartily. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this tin specifically to bake a Yule log and it was just perfect. Although it is non-stick, I did line it with baking paper as per the recipe. It certainly seems good quality and did not bend at all when used. I’ve used it twice for the same recipe and hope to get much more use from it in future. Very happy.

First class baking tray

Thought I'd spend a little bit on a recognised brand in the hope that I'd get something of quality. Unfortunately the tray (MasterClass Large Baking Tray with PFOA Non Stick, Robust 1 mm Carbon Steel, 39 x 27 cm) was very quickly a massive disappointment. It arrived looking okay unlike the single portion tray which arrived scratched so was immediately returned - and by single portion they mean a mouse sized portion as it wasn't big enough for a salmon fillet or chicken breast. Anyway, as I say it looked good and certainly felt sturdy but when I used it for the first time to roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots (which Masterclass pictures as one of its uses) the non-stick surface came off where the carrots had roasted and after careful but thorough washing the surface was permanently browned. Very surprised by the poor quality and now realise I should have taken more notice of other reviews that told of similar problems.

MasterClass bakeware is always high quality. Truly non-stick. Solid baking pans, not flimsy. I use these multiple times a week, every week

The coating fell off within two months. It is not carbon steel either
