Great little unit
Great little unit, extremely low price, tons of features and really robust. It's got a good weight and quality, professional feeling all-metal chassis rather than cheap nasty plastic. Highly recommended for the price and dead easy to set up. It works straight out of the box if you dont want to fiddle about with configuration or you're not the geeky type (unlike me). It's robust enough that it'll go just about anywhere - Mine's under the tv but it'll go in the garage, cupboard, hang on a wall or sit on a shelf quite happily. It also comes with little sticky rubbery feet that you can add if it's shelf-mounted to stop it sliding about. Performance is impressive as it's using proper ASIC switching technology and not firing traffic out on all ports and waiting for the designated destination host to pick up the signal (sorry - a bit techy). The PoE acceptance port means I can power it from my Meraki switch so I didn't need to use the power adaptor included either - A Cisco version of this device with as many features would cost upwards of £700 and then you'd need a qualified CCNA engineer to configure it. I'm Really impressed with it but slightly sad (and just a bit gloaty) that I got mine on Amazon Prime for £34.99 and it's now selling for around the £40-£50 mark but still highly recommended. I think this unit will last a long, long time...

This is the best switch i have ever owned
Review is for the GS108T-200UKS.This is the best switch i have ever owned, before you read another review that says "I plugged it into my Virgin Media and it worked out of the box" most switches should, it is basic operation, this Web Managed switch gives you access to just enough extra features to make setting up an advanced home network, all in a reasonably easy to understand web interface, setting up vlan's and link aggregation to my NAS was a breeze, i was so taken with the switch i decided to buy it's big brother the GS724Tv4 which was awful, it was so slow and unbelievably hard to try and configure, any attempt to try and set up any features that where even slightly advanced led to the unit becoming totally un-responsible, the web if disconnecting and the network totally slowing down, needless to say i sent this back. The GS108T-200UKS is an amazing product, why they couldn't have just made a 16 or 24 port version that was as good only Network knows.I bought this product with my own money and decided to leave an honest review based on my experiences, Netgear have never offered me free or discounted products in exchange for favorable reviews, but they can if they want... contact me guys!!

Worked straight out of the box
Bought to replace earlier model of the same item, which had failed after a power cut. This worked straight out of the box, and without any additional setting up.The previous model had lasted over eight years, possibly more. Hoping to get similar use from this version too.Only con, has been inability to upgrade the firmware to the latest version, so far. Although after researching online, this appears to be a general issue with the netgear software, rather than this hardware item. This has not stopped the switch working flawlessly since installing.

Good solid switch.
Bought this to connect a NAS and PC together so that I could get a gigabit connection. Metal construction and seems built like a tank. This switch also supports Link Aggregation which I fancied playing with later (and why I bough it). There are far cheaper switches if you do not want this feature which I'm sure will do a good job.

The GS724T-400EUS has been a great addition to my home network
The GS724T-400EUS has been a great addition to my home network. I'm in the progress of cabling up the house with CAT6 for a fully wired network and this switch has allowed for easy and central distribution. I particularly wanted a managed switch to take advantage of Link Aggregation, creating a 4 port aggregated interface (LACP) between the switch and my file server (NAS4Free) which was straightforward to setup and works a treat. This allows for additional available bandwidth between the NAS and multiple simultaneously active clients on the network transferring large video and RAW image files to and from the NAS during editing workflows. The switch has a host of other managed features which I haven't looked into yet and are probably beyond the scope of my network. I have found the web management interface to be a little irritating on occasion but overall cant complain. Great, affordable 24 port managed switch

Cannot be set up using a Mac, comes with PC only software
This is a good switch, and crucially for my needs supports link aggregation. However, despite being both Mac and PC compatible, the switch is shipped with installation and setup CDs that are only PC compatible.Despite Netgear customer support being friendly and willing to try and help, after days of trying to download software from the internet, going through their web browser configuration software and calling them several times often getting conflicting information, there is unfortunately no way around this problem other than to borrow a PC and in my case someone that knows how to use the PC, in order to install the software and configure the switch.Netgear say that none of their products come with Mac software. Surely a huge oversight on their part, and certainly a massive waste of time and inconvenience for their Mac customers.
