Package Contents: 1*12 inch master precision leve 1*wooden box Review: Great level. - Very nice level with a great price. I used it to level my new lathe, and it worked well. Review: Very good and not so good - The level itself is excellent and seems extremely sensitive. It easily registered a one thou difference in two feeler gauges as I was calibrating it. The instrument box arrived in three pieces and is very cheaply made, thin and weak especially considering that the level is heavy at over five pounds, I will make a new one. One layer of thin bubble wrap and a plastic mailing bag was all. And lastly the instruction sheet....a translation from a different language, it makes very little sense. Quote from first line 'The level is applying for check the straightness/parallelism of the surface' etc and it gets worse. It seems astonishing that a good translation is unavailable for most items coming from the far East.

On the mark
Master levels by Starrett or Mitutoyo are a little out of my price range for my home shop. As a retired machinist I have used a great many different precision levels. I have a 98 level that is quite good but I wanted something a little larger and more accurate to assist a friend in setting up several machines in his new shop. Comparison tests and checks of this level show it to be quite accurate and trustworthy. If you need this kind of precision, this is certainly worth it.

Maybe I just got a bad one
The box was broken when I received mine. I tried and tried to calibrate it. Had a machinist with about 40 + years experience try as well with no luck. I just went ahead and returned mine and got the Starret 98-8. Took maybe 5 minutes to calibrate it. could be the accuracy claim though. Starret says .005 over 1 foot. This one claims .0002 over 10"..... So maybe it was just me. And I am not sure I ever need that close. But then again 40+ year machinist couldn't get it right either so maybe mine was bad.

Packaging was very bad.
The level itself seems good... But the packaging was very bad and the wooden box was broken and unusable.
